Morayo you make an important point that we should not view this the way we were raised. However, at a younger age, children should learn the fundamentals of WRITING, READING, SPEAKING and LISTENING the traditional way before they hop onto digital devices. Perhaps if we did this well, we won't be having people seeing IELTS as a problem. Children must know the fundamentals before using technology to guide them. Tech can fail, your hands, hopefully can't.

Less printing material but more exposure of children to screen if schools go more digital

Most schools assignment and activities here are done online. Moreover, the schools here ( UK) provide test books which the pupils and students use at school. Last week I was sent an email to pay for text ( triple science) books for my son to study for his GCSE coming up next year. This is the first time I have ever paid for books. Considering that he’s my fourth child.

In more advanced countries they are now going paperless. Damage is done to the environment when trees are cut down to make paper. Even the Public Schools in those advanced countries are using Laptops and other media to teach the students. I remember when I attended College we could buy used books or someone you know would pass on text books to us. The Colleges decided that they would change the Textbooks every yearso that Bookstores and writers could make more money. Even the Colleges would do things so that they could make a profit. So if we used the 5th Edition book for this years class, next semister those books were not usable anymore, because they started changing the Editions every new semister. Those books were very expensive some cost $75 dollars or more. The Colleges also sold the Books or we could make a deposit and rent them. The Colleges then would claim the rights to the Text books so the students were unable to purchase them elsewhere. Its an unfair deal, but everyone is about making money.
