After a nanny hired to care for a Florida family sexually assaulted their 11-year-old son and gave birth to his baby, the boy was left to reveal the abuse and the secret the nanny had kept to his mother. Last month, Marissa Mowry, 28, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for sexually assaulting Chris McBride when he was just 11. She gave birth to his child in October 2014. She's now divorced from her 30+ year old husband. She met him when he was 7. She was a teacher or his teacher. She didn't do anything with him until he was 12. She was also married with children at this time. She had his kid. She was arrested and was released on probation. She had sex with him again when he was 13 and had another kid with him. She went to prison for less than 10 years, came out and eventually married him. Both Mary and her now ex (I don't remember his name exactly, sorry) were interviewed by Barbara Walters. Some years back, the NY Daily News featured them in a story. A lot of it was positive. There's no way, that I can think of, that a man could admit to doing what Letourneau did with a girl and not just be getting out of prison or looking at parole in the next 5 years. There's one study behind a pay wall that says for men who've gone on to sexually assault, most were sexually assaulted themselves as children by adult women. Can you imagine having sympathy for a male rapist or pedophile, but we (society) do for female rapists and pedophiles. Women receive 60% less prison time than men when they commit the same exact crime. That's just the way we do things, unfortunately.
