Because if someone is paying rent for a room from his parents, then he should be entitled to the whole room. did the right thing when my dad put my rent up to half my income (I wasn't working and I'm not allowed to anymore.) Me and my brother moved out. We didn't have Peace quiet and privacy with my parents and little sister. It was the best thing for us to do. Things have changed now. I moved back to live with my parents (I couldn't stand my brother's bird.) But I found someone (I never thought would happen.) Got engaged and got married (And no one thought that would ever happen to me either.) and now live a happy life in Leeds

No, not at all. A few times in my life, I have been just separated from military service (twice), or between jobs, and stayed with my parents until I saved enough money to get a new place of my own. No asking for rent. I did help with groceries. I now own my old family home we've been in since 1964. Inherited from my late parents. 😊

Unfortunately, families like this are parasitic. They will turn on each other in a heartbeat. They will bleed whoever is doing the best dry until there’s nothing left to take. And then everything will always be someone else’s fault. There is no getting ahead in life with people like this. The brother is just like his parents. That’s why they enable him.
