Parents Surprise Daughter with Dog she had been caring for at shelter.

So, here’s the story. Our daughter Hallee Fuqua has been asking for a dog for Christmas for years. We told her she should wait until after she graduates college. She began volunteering at the Humane Society of Stillwater. She fell in love with a dog named Rambo and visited him often. My wife and I decided to secretly adopt him 3 weeks ago. With the help from the Humane Society we kept it a secret. She found out this weekend that Rambo had been adopted and she was broken. So Sunday night we surprised her with her early Christmas present. We captured the moment on video. I never wanted a dog. And then, last year we went to the shelter to look for a dog for my friend. She found herself a great friend there. There was only one BUT... BUT the dog that stole her heart had a brother,a bit bigger than her, very timid, scared and stubborn and with a pretty nasty hip dysplasia,but at the same time very fragile, sad and depressed as he already knew nothing else will happen to him. Dad to a Dad - what a lovely group of kids sir - you and whomever else is responsible - be proud. Not just because of the compassion. Not just because of the mature and loving way the boys reacted. But - and people can think I'm nuts -----even though she was excited to see the dog ----she was thoughtful enough to close the house door on her way out. I've owned multiple medium sized companies before retiring early.....but I'd hire any of those 3 kids without even interviewing.

I wish my parents would do this for me. I volunteer at a rescue. There is a cat I love dearly, his name is Joey. He is a 2 yr, large, domestic short hair, buff colored tabby. Such a sweet baby, he will sniff your face then headbutt your face for kisses, purr like an engine, and climb onto your shoulder to be held, then just sit in your arms like a baby while he purrs. I love him so much, he brightens my day.

@@violetrosely3694 definitely not! i think they meant it means more that they got a rescue dog rather than buying a puppy from a breeder because 'its cute'! it just means more especially because shes already formed a bond with this dog and he isnt being bought from a breeder! but getting a puppy from a shelter would be completely fine! its just that older dogs are typically less popular and get adopted less than puppies

I wish I hadn’t read this comment. Only 10 days ago I layed to rest the sweetest 15 yr old lab shep mix. My heart aches with the gal no longer a part of my life. Today I took many of Abby’s belongings, many beds, treats, food, meds, to a local animal shelter. While there I agreed to become a dog walker beginning tomorrow. I do not want another dog, I hope I can be strong.

That's the way my cat was to me when we first met. He picked me and he is my devil child. I love my little devil. When he is gone It'll feel weird to be without his presence whacking me with claws when he wants to be pet and biting me when he is done without any warning and meowing when he wants to be the center of the universe. My dogs are like you rescued me now I kiss you to death and one gives me love bites on the lip when she licks me.

If I have kids I think that’s the way I want them to get a dog- by volunteering at a shelter and learning to love and care for them before they ever know they get to take them home. As someone who had to wait until the age of 30 to realise my dream of having a dog, this one always makes me cry. There are so many things I love about this video, her care for shelter dogs, her reaction to Rambo being hers and the fact her brother knew who Rambo was as soon as she said his name. Yep, she talked about him a lot and adores that beautiful pooch!
