A South Indian classic dish Thakkali Rasam Recipe, is simple, comforting tomato rasam that is made in all households down south. Today I am sharing my mom's easy peesy no dalversion of Tomato Rasam which is prepared almost every week in our home.

Ingredients
1 large tomato
3 cloves of garlic
10 curry leaves
1/2 tsp Jeera
1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp Black Pepper powder
1/2 tsp asafoetida
1 tbsp Rasam powder (I use Sakthi masala or Brahmins)
3 tsps Tamarind Paste
1/2 tbsp Coconut Oil
1 tsp Mustard seeds
1/4 tsp Methi seeds
2 dry whole red chilli
3 + 1/4 cups water
Salt to taste
Handful of chopped coriander
