A short video I filmed explaining how to arrive in Paris like a pro, using the RER B line. The RER connects to the metro system in central Paris, offering easy access to anywhere you need to go via stations like Gare Du Nord or Chatelet Des Halles.

Love it, Dan! I just back from about a month in France. That's exactly how I got from CDG into the city. Transferred at Denfert-Rochereau to a Metro line and walked half a block to my hotel. I hadn't been to Paris since 200, and it is as magical as ever!!

11.45 € is a lot if you think that Beauvais is much further away than CDG, and the trip just costs about 17€. It's a tourist trap. The buses would be much cheaper although the ride would last an hour. But still the difference is double time half the price.

I never take the taxi or Uber that cost over 50 euros. But the train cost around 12 euros and right inside the airport to directly the center of Paris. You can jump off at le marais or near your hotel. Be careful not to keep train and Metro tickets near cellphone. That will invalid your ticket ànd you have to go to the boost for help

Hello Dan, thanks for your vid. I have a question for you or anyone. I'm traveling to Paris soon. I know to take the RER B- line to Gare de Nord. I then need to take E- line to where I'm going. When I get to Gare de Nord, do I need to purchase another ticket to get onto E line or is the ticket I purchased at the airport still good for E line too? Thanks in advance for any help!!

Over 11€ for the ticket is a rip off. Usually the price for RER single tickets is 5€ but they made a special exception for airports which I find unfair and targets tourists who don’t know the prices. It’s a bit a pain in the bum but I recommend you to get the pass navigo, especially if you stay close to a week. Getting the card is only 5€ and you can top up through your phone.

Hi there, this is really helpful. I am planning a family trip (4 people) and planning to stay near the airport and travel into Paris by train but it will be quite expensive if per person ticket is 11.45 euros only single way - we will end up paying roughly 85 euros for just one day round trip between 4 of us and there are other metro tickets we would need to get to see Paris. Is there any other economical way? i was thinking to use bus 350 which seems like a cheaper option or catch bus. does the ticket price drop if i catch RER from any non airport stop i.e. parc des expositions which is net to aairport stop on RER as RER is usually 5 euro per person? if you could please advise. also, how does it work with Pass Navigo as we are staying for 4 days.

@@gaganxs Buying tickets from the airport is more expensive than anywhere else. This is a hidden tax on tourists. The best thing to do is to buy “Pass Navigo découverte” - it’s the equivalent of a UK Oyster card. If you can’t buy this at Charles de Gaule you can try to go to the next RER stop by taxi. You can then do a weekly top up which will allow you to go wherever you want inside the Paris region for 30€. You can top up using an app, IDF mobilités. In total this will be 140€ for 4 people for a week. I don’t recommend taking the bus from Charles de Gaulle. It’s too far and buses are slow. Take the RER or rent a car (but then keep in mind parking is not easy or cheap in Paris). I also probably wouldn’t recommend the hotel in Charles de Gaulle. Once again it’s pretty far from the city.

@@gaganxs Four people in a taxi should cost the same as one person in a taxi. When you divide a taxi fare by 4, it's much more reasonable and possibly very close in price to the train or the bus.

@@gaganxs I personally use bus 350. You also have bus 351 if your destination in Paris is around Place de la Nation. And yes if you catch RER B from Parc des Expositions it's much cheaper, around 5e indeed. But you need to get there first, so... The train company knows you're stuck and that's how they get away with this. Although to be fair, the airport price used to be the same as any other long destination price, they didn't increase it they just dramatically decreased all the other prices (and then increased it a bit, over time, along with all others). But wait until they open the "CDG Express", which is expected to cost 24e (one way): I think they'll increase RER even further then, otherwise nobody in their right mind will use the new train, which will only marginally be faster and, unlike RER B, will only have one single destination.
