Just landed at CDG for the first time today and we opted for a taxi due to our luggage situation. Your video made it super easy and non-threatening, even with all the “fake” Taxi drivers inside the terminal, just as you stated. Went outside to the actual Taxi stand, confirmed the set price and that the driver would take a credit card, and 45 minutes later, we were at our hotel. Many of your videos have made us look forward to seeing your amazing city with much more confidence than we would have otherwise. Many thanks!

Good advice from you saved me some euros. First, just heading towards exit door 10 to get a taxi. Some men tried to get me to go to another door since there were 5 in my family. He said larger cars were in exit door 16. Second, when I went outside, I told the dispatcher I needed a larger vehicle with 5 people. We waited a minute or so and he sent me to a small mini van. We were going to an Airbnb right next to Notre Dame. The driver told me I had to pay 83 euros since there were 5 people and I had to pay extra. I saw your video and that amount seemed high. I went back to the dispatcher and he said that was too high. I didn't take his ride and he had me go to another driver about 2 minutes later. He charged me 55 euros and an extra 4.5 for the fifth person. He was surprised another taxi driver was trying to squeeze 83 euros out of me. Thanks again.

Uber was about €10 less than a taxi as of last week, both are great in non-peak hours as Paris traffic is horrible during rush hours. But Les Frenchies, this is probably the best video I've seen on describing the process of getting from CDG to Paris. 👍

Hi Colleen and Antoine, We loved this video! When we visited France, we studied and studied the different ways thru the CDG in order to familiarize ourselves with the things to look for. We were very aware we were going somewhere large and unfamiliar and dealing with another language. My husbands skills were nonexistent and mine were from college days and only updated by watching French channels during the previous months.Luckily my reading skills were better than my spoken ones. We found our way very easily but there was quite a bit of anxious energy leading up to our arrival. This video is so reassuring even now planning our return for next year and dealing with all the regular travels challenges and perhaps more of the same still by next year. Thank You so very much for all you do!

The return trip to CDG on the RER B. can create panic when one arrived at the CDG train station and your original Metro ticket will not let you exit. Every time I take this trip to CDG I see many passengers panicking that they can't get out because thei trip originated on a Metro train using a Metro ticket which isn't accept on RER . However you can get access onto the RER with that Metro ticket but you cannot get out at the train terminal at CDG. You need to cover this topic

A couple other tips- If you arrive at Terminal 1 (United\Star Alliance) you'll need to take the free train to the RER station. Also, when taking the RER, check to make sure you get a train that goes straight to Gare du Nord. Otherwise, the trip will be much longer with all the local stops.
@davidthaler70182 жыл бұрын
I’ve seen a few videos with both “fast” and local trains between CDG and central Paris-the time difference was only about 5-7 minutes. Besides, the time you spend WAITING for the fast train is time you could be on a local train. :-)

@@davidthaler7018 Agreed. I took the all stops train and found it OK.
@christianbarnay2499 Жыл бұрын
RER B has only 1 track in each direction. Trains won't overtake. So just take the first train. The only benefit of the direct train is that it has only one stop at Aulnay-sous-Bois before Gare-du-Nord. So you can take a good nap without fearing that someone hops in and out grabbing your luggage while you're asleep. That's unless extra stops are added on the fly for whatever random reason. RER B is an adventure on its own.
@davidthaler7018 Жыл бұрын
@@christianbarnay2499 I’ve seen direct trains stop at CDG1 and Parc des Expositions before continuing to Gare du Nord. That appeared to be during spring and admittedly the video was several years old so perhaps schedules change seasonally or have changed altogether.

Great video as always! Thanks for showing the way to go to the train station, not that complicated. Our routing is already planned. Get off at 2E, do the usual bag pick and going through customs. Then head for the train station, go to Paul for lunch, then to the IDF Mobilités kiosk for our Paris Visite cards, then RER B to Saint-Michel - Notre-Dame, then the underground corridor to Cluny La Sorbonne station on ligne 10 then the metro direction Boulogne - Pont de Saint-Cloud to Charles Michels and a 7-8 minute walk to our Airbnb. Salut!

We did take the Roissy Bus because we wanted to see a bit more of the area as we travelled. We landed where we wanted to but the bus was generally longer, Not particularly scenic at all and took a good bit longer. Just our experience because we were timid to catch the train and thought the trip would be underground(not so). We learned that of the two, the train is more efficient and faster, and definitely not difficult

We got the Navigo Découverte Weekly Pass at the airport and decided to take the Roissybus because the Opera stop was close to our hotel. We were a bit hesitant to take the RER B with our luggage. Our next visit I think we might just take a taxi straight to the hotel as we plan to arrive on a Saturday so we wouldn't be able to load an All-zone Weekly Pass until Monday. We'll save some money by just getting a Zone 1-2 Daily Pass for Saturday and Sunday then have the Weekly Pass start on Monday.

Love your Channel. My wife and I took a 5 day trip getaway while we were visiting family in England. Stayed at The Hotel Monge (our daughter picked it) and later found it's one of the boutique hotels you recommend. We loved it and will stay there again as we love the 5th arr., as it's not touristed out and many times being in restaurants, markets, bars, etc in the area, we felt like the only tourists there. Everyone else was French. Our next plan is to find an Airbnb or similar in the 5th and stay for 3/4 weeks. I went to high school over 50 years ago just outside Paris in Garches and we lived in St. Germain en Laye and Le Port Marly while my USAF Dad was stationed there. We took the RER out to St. Germain one day and it was great to hang out in my old neighborhood and walk the Chateau grounds on a beautiful summer day. Walking towards the East on the grounds you're on a bluff above the Seine and can see the buildings of Paris 10 miles away. Thanks for your great channel! Merci!

We dropped 2 big suitcases there for 2 days it was a bit expensive 80 euros but it was worth it. It would have been very hard for us to carry them all the way to le Quartier Latin back and forth. We travelled in April 2022, the other luggage storage , the cheaper one was not operational. May be it is now.
