Great selection. Substance café is my favorite in the city (no surprise they won the Sprudge award of the best new coffee shop of the world) and I visit it as often as I can. Next time you also could add two awesome places to your visit: Terres de café and L’arbe à café.

Thank you, Frederic. We planned to visit more cafes (including two you mentioned) but filming takes a little longer than a regular visit. Anyway, we had a good time in Paris!

Thank you. It’s a good question - it was one day, we split it across multiple days because of other activities in Paris. I would say we didn’t go over 5-6 cups ☕️😅

Hey Guys, great work! Why don't you drop by just behind the corner to Krakow Poland? I'm sure you'll be more than welcome in Karma roastery, all the Tekturas, Coffee Proficiency, Blossom, Knitted Coffee and so many many more. I've just listed my favourite ones ☺️

For every specialty coffee connaisseur SUBSTANCE is a must go. This place and the owners are fantastic and fully dedicated to give you an incredible experience. Higher prices are not an excuse to skip it, i'd rather have an unforgettable 10€ cup than 4 or 5 average ones.

Man! I'm super impressed by this video. Every time I go to Paris, I get disappointed by the terrible coffee scene and the lack of good places to have a proper hot beverage; but somehow you managed to show 3 places I don't know (my wife and I like to stroll around good coffee shops). Great video guys! May I suggest a small trip to Lyon? (my city) There are some really good torréfacteurs (Mokxa, Bongo, Loutsa) and coffee shops (Puzzle, Extrait, La Boîte, Diploid) too

7:38 what tool is that?
@arthurb84364 жыл бұрын
FanFan not too sure, but I’m guessing it’s some sort of pre-tamper to equally distribute the coffee all the way through rather than just smooth it out on the top
@joachimmorceau42724 жыл бұрын
FanFan it’s a irrigation tool, it’s not intended to distribute in space but in time. The extraction will be better, the first drop won’t be underextract and the last won’t be overextract. The tool creates 95 channels, but your channels. The coffee will be more sweet and acidic, less sour and less bitter. The hog allows the terroir to better express itself in the cup.
@stefan29014 жыл бұрын
@@joachimmorceau4272 Thx! I had the same ideea, but you explained far better. Do you know more about the tool, since you know there's 95 channels? It's something diy or it's actually on sale somewhere? Also, the channels are made by needles or by blades, so i know their shape.

The title should be “top 5 hipster cafe’s in Paris”. Not a good overview of the best cafe’s in Paris.
@dl46082 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, La Fontaine must be unequivocally struck from this list. It was sold in 2021 and the new operators are NOT coffee people at all. I went there yesterday, on my first visit to Paris, and the flat white I was served was in a glass cup and had more than two full inches of thick foam. Telescope, however, was a true delight, and absolutely worth visiting. Fringe is another, serving up one of the most delicious V60s I’ve ever had. Paris does have some superb specialty coffee cafes, but La Fontaine is absolutely NOT one of them any more.
@dl46082 жыл бұрын
Substance was incredible. Not your typical prices, but also not your typical cafe! A true *experience* cafe, run by one of the most passionate, knowledgeable and friendly coffee experts you’ll find anywhere. Even as a first-time visitor to Paris, seeing so many famed sights for the first time, my visit to Substance still stands as one of the highlights and a true delight. Back in Black was also superb, as was Fringe. Looking forward to returning to these places, and getting to some of those I missed.
