"A battle between millions and one"...? Seriously? The parliament backed him up! Why no comment on the necessity of the reforms? In a rapidly aging population, a retirement age of 62 is ridiculous. Australia recently increased its retirement age from 65 to 67 with little or no complaint....

If the system is set up, democratically I presume, which allows for the president to apply legislation then it is acceptable. If the population now disagree with it, remove it legally and move forward. But it’s interesting how different retirement ages are across the world

If only they did - but the lovely UK government is trying to bring in legislation that might even quash the right to strike without fear of being sacked, or the right to demonstrate. So even if there is a spark in the UK DNA, it will be extinguished through totalitarian rules being proposed/read in parliament.
