I saw Paris Hilton's documentary. I am sorry I had a biased view of her in the past. We never really know what is going on in a person's life. Thankyou Paris for sharing not only your harrowing story, but using your platform to help other kids. These "correction schools" and children's home must be brought into account and the abuse in such facilities must be stopped.

I saw her documentary and I couldn't stop crying. To some degree I know what Paris went through. When I was two I was removed from my parents home. After an argument a family member lied that my father abused me, I had a broken arm at the time which added to the stress of the situation It was like a match tossed into a tinder box. They fought hard to get me back but the damage is done and my family had therapy for years after. What she went through is undeniably the worst thing a parent could allow to happen to a child. My situation was unforseen and my family could only react but her family manufactured the most traumatizing experience a person could ever have. I'm deeply sorry it happened to her or anyone. It's madness and it has to stop.

Could not be more proud of Paris! I recently found out a friend grew up in a cult who used various sick methods to change her sexual orientation. They ended up sending her to a facility also when she was 16, where she was tied up and drugged and then raped. This was in South Africa. This problem is world wide though.

I am reading comments where people are attacking Paris Hilton. I don't think that is productive in this forum. An "out of control" teenager does not mean she should be physically or sexually abused. Nor any other child. Children are at the mercy of the adults which is the point here. Unfortunately we rely heavily on celebrities to bring problems in our society to the forefront. I appreciate what she is trying to do. Attack the problem and allow her experience as well as others that she advocates for to be a conduit for change.

this comment is important! Thank you for saying this. And as for on line trolls, SHAME ON THEM...if that is their purpose, to be indifferent about children's abuse and mistreatment, all because they have an issue with Paris Hilton, they seriously need to get a LIFE, and it isn't authentic when you have to hide behind a "false account" out of insecurities and demons, for the purpose of just being evil and contributing to the evils in the world! I am 100 % (there is no actual percentage, it's beyond 100 really), behind Paris for this Life's Work. Anyone who defends the defenceless, speaks for the voiceless, stands up for those most vulnerable, is WORTHY OF PRAISE! God bless Paris for this Advocacy. She is using her privilege to actually make a difference in the world! This is work that is very relevant and much needed by people in her position! May God Almighty continue to strengthen her, poise her, encourage her, just give all that is needed for this cause! Children matter. The most vulnerable in our world...and they should be of the most priority by anyone of us, to be protected at all costs! And as someone else stated, may she fine DIVINE HEALING from her own experiences regarding such traumas. You can never get back something like "innocence", once stolen from you, but you can use your pain to heal others, to reach out to others, to EXPOSE this unnecessary evil in our world as we know it. Paris is doing just that. How can you not be proud of her stepping into this Advocacy? I am...

For anyone justifying this abuse or claiming that they are out of control, let me just say that those "outbursts" are more than likely a cry for help and indicator of trauma and survival. It's the primal brain responding to fear, neglect, grief, and abuse. Please understand that these children need to know that they are SAFE. They need to have structure, guidance, and given options to cope and deal with their existing traumas, not have more added. What we currently do is horrific. We punish and harm victims, revictimizing them, and often vilifying them. This must stop! Good for you, Paris, for speaking up!

My mother and step father locked me away for 6 months, in a “psychiatric hospital” in the mid 1980’s. They did not give me even a physical exam until 3 days before I left. Legally, they were supposed to give both a physical exam and a psychiatric assessment within 24 hours. In the last days I was there, they threw a flurry of paperwork at me, and backdated all legal documents. They were brutally incompetent, and abused the children in the ways Ms Hilton has described. Sexual abuse, physical abuse, chemical restraints, physical isolation, and forged documents are what they are. These companies exist solely to drain insurance companies’ bank accounts, and scrape the pockets of the wealthy.

I commend Paris for her bravery coming forward and sharing her story and using her celebrity to help give abuse children at these facilities a voice. I hope this leads to these facilities being shut down. So sad there are so many kids in these bootcamps and foster care. Many are in foster homes due to parents who abused them or parents who are addicts. Meanwhile, MAGA wants to end abortion so these parents can have more kids. More kids MAGAs doesn't believe in caring for after they are born. Then they're on their own. Paris is right. We'll give money to these businesses who abuse the money, but not to individuals, because then it's a handout. MAGAs abandon these kids when thhey need help the most.

I was in foster care, and I’ve been through different forms of abuse in and outside of it. This includes a private school. She can’t relate just because she heard the stories of others, since declaring herself the queen of survivor advocacy. Look at how she is universally believed, and all the shitty, bigoted, sociopathic things she did when she was relevant is just magically absolved, in the eyes of the masses. We don’t get that luxury. I don’t want allies who have barely dipped their toes into the suffering we are forced to endure. I feel like I’m too privileged to speak for the masses. But she even has privilege over the other rich and famous women who spoke out against Weinstein. Nobody gets handled as gently as she has, with this and every single candle she has ever had. Oh… you recently discovered foster care hurts kids, and somehow connect that to your own unrelated alleged trauma? Boo fucking hoo. Sit down and let the voices that actually represent us speak.

Why was she in youth treatment facilities in the first place? Was she on drugs then? Why did she wait so long to tell her story? She is 43 now. I am sorry that happened to her but I would have called my parents if that had happened to me. I was molested when I was in the Navy and I complained about it but no one helped me and I was 20. I did not wait years to tell anyone either.
