PARIS IN A DAY - [CANON 7D, 24-70 2.8 L USM]

I had one day to do Paris, is it possible? Tell me what you think.
I started shooting at 8am and didn't return home until 4am. I wouldn't recommend it. I will stay much longer next time round when I return to explore a little more, but I certainly made some tracks over the course of the day. You'll notice some places I visited twice to get night and day time shots. I traveled by foot mostly, metro and the occasional bus. I was wrecked the next day from all the walking, but the experience was awesome. Can't wait to go back
I rented a Canon 24-70 2.8 L USM Lens from www.711rent.fr
They were awesome. I was only there for a day and only had an Australian Passport with me. They don't normally rent items to non residence but they were determined to keep me happy. This was the first time using this lens and it was pretty good. I found it not quite wide enough in some instances, in fact the lens I really wanted was the 16-35 but unfortunately 711 were out of stock for that day. The 16-35 would have been awesome. It has internal zoom which is more compact than the 24-70 which to be fully wide open you need to extend the zoom all the way out. That got a little annoying throughout the day.
Anyhow I hope you enjoy the vid. I edited it in Premiere pro with minor colour correction (last day of my free trial... guess I have to buy it now!)

Thanks for the comment mate. Mostly hand held but there are a lot of tripod shots also. Especially the time lapse shot in front of the Eiffel Tower and various other slow motion shots around the city. I had my Shutter speed on 125 and Frame rate for shooting was 60 f/s so in post production I can slow it down to 24 f/s and still have film quality slow motion video. I hope that helps out a bit. thanks man, I appreciate the comment. Yes I did the same before I left for my journey. Never shot video before this trip. I did my research and yeah I shoot with custom picture style with Saturation completely down and I drop the contract a couple notches also. Gives a flat image that is great for colour grading in post. Hope that helps mate, good luck shooting, please send the videos my way when you're done!

Very nice shots... I didn't like the music, but the video part is very welldone. I have the same camera and I'm struggling and researching about what lenses to get. I'm both into video and photography and I made my head a total mess... thank you for sharing!

Dude, You are a king this edit is fucking perfect, dont understand why everyone is bitching about the Soundtrack, plenty of entry points and ways to edit with that song, it makes it epic. just wondering what Picture Style you shot with on your 7D? was it flat? cinestyle? I just plan to do something similar to this when im over there in July, anyway swear Iv watched this through about 6 or 7 times this week in preparation haha

thanks for the comment mate. Yeah do your research and then do some more research. honestly its all about the lens! When i bought my 7D I just bought a 50mm 1/4f because I knew it was a great lens for profile shooting. as for shooting a city its not so good. The lens i am saving up for now is a Canon 10-22mm for those awesome landscape shots. It has really good reviews and isnt that expensive. Hey mate, I always shoot at 24fps / shutter speed at 50. For shooting slow motion I shoot at 60fps / shutter speed at 125 , then I slow the motion down to 24fps in post production. ISO for night shoot I never go higher than 800 otherwise the footage can get many artefacts. I hope that helps a little mate
