I’m a Korean(South :) man, and as I watch this video, I can’t help but feel that the lyrics perfectly mirror my mother’s life. Because of Korea’s patriarchal system, she had to work her entire life for my father. I’m 30 years old, and I see how serious the gender conflict in Korea has become. I personally believe that men are largely at fault. Even though I didn’t directly contribute to this system, I feel a sense of guilt simply for being a man, as a result of what the past has created. I will do my best to help eliminate gender conflict in the future.

Men know that women truly aren’t weak. That’s why they do their best to push them down, tell them they’re weak, put them against each other, tell them it’s “their nature” the be soft and their only purpose is to be a mother, because men know the true strength of women. That women are smart and strong and when they know their worth and support each other they’re stronger and can demand what they deserve. I know it’s hard, but women have always been strong and fought for the rights, safety, respect, and love they deserve. Keep fighting, Fight for the sisters we’ve lost, the sisters that have fought to get us where we are today, the sisters we’re still losing, the sisters that still aren’t allowed to fight back. For any comment along the lines of "oh but men also..." NO, I'm sorry but this one in particular is no place for that discourse because I guarantee you, there's no way women are not reminded of the labour, struggles and triumphs of men each day of our existence. Yes we do remember and have been reminded always of how much men have done, how much they've sacrificed and their victories. The issue is that men often forget how much women have done too, no war would've been won by anyone if women weren't behind as nurses, weapon factory workers, farmers, mothers carrying what's left of their families. Yes we aren't able to forget how much men have done, but in exchange they've erased women from history, taken credit from them in science and arts. No, we don't forget what men have done because we're never allowed to, because history is written by men but they, they've forgotten us and our labour.

Whats this got to do with non white men or gays? Its a song for women
@ThatQueerqueenslay2 ай бұрын
@FightNerdJay Paris Paloma herself acknowledged how this song resonates with women, POC, and LGBTQIA+ people, which is why so many from these communities have embraced it. As a bigender, gay POC, I deeply connect with the song because it reflects the systemic oppression and emotional labor my communities have historically endured-whether it’s women fighting patriarchy, POC resisting racism and colonialism, or LGBTQIA+ people battling discrimination. Art like this is powerful because it speaks to shared histories of resilience while allowing each person to interpret it through their own experiences. Dismissing that diversity of connection misses the point entirely.

We fight !! We all fight our ways ! ND, NB, female-bodied folk here nya. I'm in a different country where I can get sterilized, I'm lucky in this and other ways; yet I'm frightened. Existing as a woman, someone with a female body, even just female/woman/feminine-looking, who's differently-abled, as an LGBTQA+ / Queer, as a neurodivergent, as a person of color, as one who's several of these is dangerous because of oppressors, people who want us to apologize with our lives for our existences. Thank y'all for existing. Please hold on, please keep on for as long as you can. Please stay with us, it will pass, we can continue to walk together, and if all you can do is stand and survive, please do so. I don't want to sound high and mighty; I know what hell can feel like, still surviving, and I just want you to know that there can be a way out and better times and places out there. I don't have all the answers, I just want to say that you're not as alone as they want you to think you are. We stand, we risk our lives just by existing, but we're here ! To all those who departed, to all those who are still here, to all those in between, I wish safe travels and good rests, even if it's not right away. Kalon vat nya!! ("Good heart miaw": keep on with your strengh and bravery!!)🖤 Thank you, Paris Paloma and everyone who created this marvel, for offering us all a song to sing at the top of our lungs and from the depths of our being nya!!🐾🖤🌈🌟🎶

God this is a deeply touching song. I'm a republican man from Tn, and I am disgusted with what is going on. Voted blue down ballot and will continue to do so until the republican party unfucks itself from the hate. In other words, untill I die. I just hate that it won't be enough. My heart breaks for yall. I may slightly disagree on some democratic stances, but I do not see how we have slipped back to this point. Stay strong, you still have friends out here.

@joeirgohuy24692 ай бұрын
What made you vote republican before Trump?
@mobiussquadron2 ай бұрын
@@joeirgohuy2469 Honestly I was raised republican. If all things were perfectly balanced I am very VERY slightly conservative on certain issues so slightly lean that way in a perfect world. I missed the 2008 election by 2 years. In 2012 I didn't realize I had to register by a certain date (Tn didn't seem to broadcast in formats I was consuming at the time) but was supporting Obama if for no other reason I was seeing so much fear and racism towards him. 2016 is actually the only year I have voted republican. I was strongly leaning towards Hillary because again, in a perfect world I would vote conservative. Unfortunately we do not live in a perfectly balanced world. I don't have to remind anyone how any of the trump campaigns have ran, and by morals did not feel I could vote for the republican side. Then I saw a interview with Hillary where the subject of war with Russia came up. She was seemingly way too eager to go to war with Russia with little fear or hesitation shown in that segment. Obviously this was before we knew the depths of Russian military corruption and just how much of a paper tiger they seemed to be. So my thought process was something along the lines of we have a ~ 85% chance of war with Russia, in which case we have a VERY high likelihood of tens if not hundreds of millions dying in nuclear war. On the other hand we had Trump who would have a ~ 97% chance of being a dumpster fire of a president. I had a faint glimmer of hope maybe he would restrain himself and become slightly more presidential, but in the very high likely hood that he didn't , I had assumed the guardrails of government were strong enough to keep him mostly in check. So I made the decision to bet on a rough 4 years, but with reduced chance of war. I viewed it from the lens of it being hard to improve peoples lives if they are dead. This country wouldn't make it through a nuclear war if even 10% of Russia supposed nukes made it through. Yes it was expected trump would strip rights, but its hard to return rights later on to people who are dead in a destroyed nuclear wasteland of a country. I significantly overestimated those guard rails and underestimated the mentality of the nation but my reason for voting for him was never against Hillary for being a democrat, a woman, the email issue, or policy issues. The Benghazi situation was a concern to me but didn't factor in my final decision to vote against her that year. It was that single ~ 45 second section of an interview where she seemed to be playing too carefree with the lives of hundreds of millions. I spent a while looking for interviews where she seemed much more cautious and While I didn't find anymore where she was so bold, I never got the sense that she was worried about it.

This song makes me think of my great grandmother, she was offered to marry my great grandfather at 15, he was 30, he was looking for a wife and she was offered cause she was a “great cook”, she could read so slowly and wrote with difficulty. Her now husband was a teacher, didn’t bother to teacher her those things or more, to help her. My grandmother was born, my great grandma almost died during birth, went through hell and back to give HIM a family. Always was his maid, his cook, the mother of his daughter, his servant, she spent her days with the labour of being all of that just to make him happy, she never thought of herself as his wife, she called him “sir”, he made his daughter (my grandmother) go away for university, she also became a teacher, what about HIS wife? A servant again and again. He passed away but my great grandma spent her whole life living that way, she thought she was meant to be his maid. I think of her and just see a 15 year old girl, her dreams taken away from her just to die without those memories, and my grandmother went through her same fate. I just wish to break those chains and be different, for all pf those women in my family whose wings were cut off.

I'm a single father... well, kinda. We got married in 2006 and our son was born 2007. I tried to be a good husband and father. I let her sleep when our child cried at night. I worked two jobs and when I was home I did my best to give her time to herself. She started calling me at work and asking me to come home early because she couldn't handle our son's crying. This led to me losing my job. So, I did my best to make sure he never cried. I was there 24/7. She started drinking and popping painkillers. She started working with one of her ex's... which led to her being with him all night. During the day she would yell at me for not having a job but would yell at me every time our son cried. One night I made dinner and she didn't like what I made. She threw the food at me and told me that I wasn't doing enough around the house. So instead of getting angry I packed our son and myself up and left her to herself. We moved to my family's place. Our son was 9 months old. She never fought for him or me. We weren't good enough for her or something. She chose to not see her son for a year. I was in contact with her mother more than her. It wasn't until her mother started visiting with our son when she started talking about taking him on mondays... Not long after that her mother died of cancer. After her mother's death she stopped calling or contacting us. I kept getting phone calls from people around town telling me she was out at the bars. We ended up moving away. I knew she didn't care to hear from us so we got out of town. Our son is now 17 years of age. He has tried calling her but she ignores his phone calls. He tried to wish her happy birthday... but she got pissed off at him. Some of her friends didn't even know she had a child. We are still married. I spent 4 thousand on marriage annulment papers... that she ignored. She lives with some guy. I will never date again. I will never marry again. She was once fucking awesome. I don't know what happened. At the beginning we talked about children and she seemed fine. I wouldn't have pushed that on her. But 18 years later... she still doesn't care if we live or die.
