Gas/diesel is up. Insurance is way up and the reason is because the insurance companies raise rates based on claims they pay out, for everyone in your state. Just because you don’t have any claims means nothing. Messed up world we live in.
@williambuehler2533 Жыл бұрын
Personal insurance has done the same.. and I'm in TX..... I actually called the insurance regulation board to find out why this is being allowed. My ex now pays almost double her car payment for insurance and mine isn't far behind. At this rate it's going to become so expensive to drive that it's going to be dangerous. I make decent money and with everything I can barely afford insurance. I stop and think about people who have no choice they have to drive to get to work but make less than I do... How are they supposed to afford it? Nevermind that it goes up because you got divorced, because you're credit is less than stellar. Actually came across some professor or something that "did a study" (I call BS) showing people with bad credit are more likely to file claims. Sure if you're talking glass or hail but we can't control those, and people with great credit file them too.. but as someone who has struggled with income/outgoing and poor credit to decent credit it's never changed the way I drive or what claims I file. If anything I was more cautious with poor credit since I couldn't just walk into a dealership and walk out with a vehicle I could afford the payments for, couldn't get credit cards to cover costs
@J.R.in_WV10 ай бұрын
@@williambuehler2533 I guess the idea is you don’t get poor credit by making good financial decisions or paying on time. I’m not saying that’s right, but that’s what it looks like to them on paper. When my mom retired and bought a winter condo in Florida she took up residence and registered / insured her car there and her rates slightly more than doubled. Hypothetically if she didn’t want to give up on the tax breaks you get being a Florida resident we could hypothetically have added my name to the title and put it on my insurance policy with her listed as a covered driver and allowed the car to be titled, registered and insured in WV because on paper it spent most of its time here but hypothetically she could keep and drive it in Florida and should something happen within this hypothetical scenario she could say the right things when asked certain questions and she’d be covered. I say hypothetically because if one were to actually do something like the fictional, hypothetical thing I mentioned above it may not meet the legal definition of insurance fraud but could certainly be enough of an issue for the insurance to deny coverage in case of an accident and cancel a policy over. Of course if there were a real life situation myself and a relative were involved in I would have the vehicle in West Virginia at least 51% of the year for sure and it would only be driven to Florida for limited stays down there with that relative and not be there all the time.

My next truck will be a 3500 gasser with a gooseneck service body. If I go Ram, it will need to be a Cab & Chasis to get the HD trans with the gas engine. Chevy offers the Alison in the regular 3500 truck line with gas. Either will do (won’t be going back to Ford anytime soon). I run a non-CDL setup so I’m never hauling real heavy (12K truck w/ 14k trailer), we have hills but not mountains and I rarely go over 50 miles at most (a lot of it is 20 or less). Gas engine saves a ton of money to buy, maintenance costs, weight, etc. The internet would hate it but it’s truly the best option for me. Just have to have the “builder” rate the truck at 12k. My biggest struggle is regular vs crew cab decision. Good video!

Insurance companies don't like paying claims. As a 50+ year old male, based on demographics, your a higher risk. I owned three tow trucks. When I started in business, my commercial insurance for the 3 trucks was $4500 a year. 6 years later, no claims, no drivers with points on their license, my rate went to $13,000. My state didn't inspect small trucks as commercial vehicles, so there was a lot of F-350-450 size trucks that were junk doing repossessions, impounds from shopping centers and apartment complexes. They were involved in numerous accidents. My trucks were inspected yearly by the state police because I did police impound tows.

When I talked with my insurance carrier recently about the insurance costs and problems getting covered. Their claim is that due to California's changes and the amount of liability they want the insurance carriers to carry for fire. That they had no choice but to double it, to be able to cover California's reporting and liability requirements. I am sure the real story is somewhere in the middle. But its sure been a pain in the ass this year too deal with. They dropped my home coverage after they used AI to check the roof and instead it chose an old torn down shed to call my cause. Causing them to revoke my policy.

It’s our own fault that we’re paying double. Red light running is a common occurrence. Every day you’re going to see two to three red light runners at the intersections. Now imagine how many times that’s happening across the country. When I drive from Arizona to Florida and back I am amazed how many runners I see. Another one is passing the vehicle when they don’t have enough room so you have two vehicles diving into the emergency lane to give the idiot enough room to pass to avoid a head on collision. Drivers are so angry now a days they don’t care if they kill you because they’re hiding behind their insurance.
