I watch my EGT religiously when pulling. I normally weigh about 22k total when pulling the mini. My dodge will downshift automatically at 1400 degrees if I let it. Normally I catch it at 1300-1350 and manually downshift it. My local diesel shop says that 1400 is the number and perfectly safe. Either way, the truck has almost 200k with oil changes every 5k and runs strong, been doing it for many years.

I replaced the TIPM in my 2013 Ram 2500 last year. Shopped around a lot because I didn’t want to send mine off for a rebuild, and most places didn’t have it, even though it was advertised. I went to a Mopar Parts Direct and found it there. Was originally $700.00 and change, but was on sale for $600.00 and change… until I went to check out my cart and it was listed as only being $341.00!!! Sold American!!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸. Works great!!! 😎👍

I just bought a 1999 24v 5.9L Cummins, extended cab, long box, 4x4, 262k miles, has ATS transmission, electric aftermarket lift pump, with aftermarket spin on filter, newer tires, aluminum wheels, (need some polishing) air conditioner still works! Power windows and doors and locks, used to have an alarm and remote start in it at some point. Also had gauges, (pyro,boost,fuel pressure, I added transmission temp) I drove it 2 hrs home after I bought it, drives straight for a 2nd gen! I did a bunch of little shit to fix it up. I paided $6800 from a buddy that picked it up from an auction for dirt cheap!!

@@Antoni-m8m lol I’m very aware of the the 53 and how to fix them in a way to save them before a crack. But also like I stated the engine does not look original so might not be a 53 block.

@ So lol. That’s already a reason too be in the junkyard 53 block first thing you should have checked. It could be a junkyard 53 block. Fixing a cracked block is a bandaid It will come back. Seen it over 9 times. 5 at stock power levels.
@VBELTandSON4 күн бұрын
@ I did check but couldn’t get up under there good to see anything. And idk why you think you are a master mechanic talking to the guy that only works on these trucks. I have good blocks laying around that could fix this truck “if” it had a bad block. But I’ve seen 53 with 700k on them still solid. Cry about it all you want. I’m here to save any of these old school dinosaur trucks so that we have something to offer than a bunch of teslas around in a couple years. Your call on what you want to do. Throw good stuff away or save them.

@@kmac9759 oh boy. You must not have seen any of my builds the last couple years. I have rescued Plenty of high mileage rigs. By basic observation looking at the current engine in the truck it appears to be to clean and tidy to have that many miles on it.
