He should go pro now or sign a fat NIL deal
@lunarkoala23757 ай бұрын
With NIL being present its definitely the right move so he can get his degree at the very least and still basically compete as a professional inside the NCAA getting paid by whatever sponsor.

But PW did run the 3000 at BU on 2/3/24, and he got 1230 ranking points out of it -- which is actually slightly more valuable than his Olympic trials score...
@jameshegeman56607 ай бұрын
This performance is worth 1220 ranking points, which should move his top-three average up to 1200. I think this will be just enough to move him into the top 42. (EDIT: Top 42 after the 3-per-country rule thins the rankings...)
@TheAmazingHuman-Man6 ай бұрын
World Athletics has a Road to Paris 24 page that seems to be up to date with trials results included. Shows him as 51st - 1200p. I suppose everything will be finalized by July 7th, but does that mean Wolfe won’t go? Fisher, Teare, and Young are top 3 and bolded on the “Qualified by Entry Standard”. But I thought it would go to next in trials final order if top 3 don’t have time or rank. That would mean 1 Fisher, 2 Nur, 4 Blanks?
@jameshegeman56606 ай бұрын
@@TheAmazingHuman-Man 1200 points should be enough to get him to go once the 3-athletes-per-country rule is applied.
@TheAmazingHuman-Man6 ай бұрын
@@jameshegeman5660 Oh right. Cuz like Kenya probably has like 20 guys ranked above Wolfe. I was thinking you’d have to be ranked top 42, but I assume that’s the competitor cap for the olympics. I looked up the marathon rankings after the trials and Mantz was behind like 55 Kenyans I think.
@jameshegeman56606 ай бұрын
@@TheAmazingHuman-Man Right, several countries have more than 3 athletes above PW.

@@jameshegeman5660 Apparently Wolfe didn’t have the rankings and Blanks will take the 3rd spot. Also Valby and Schweizer had the rankings for 10k. ESP and Valby opted out of 5k sending 5th place Whittni Morgan.

“Way off” is a little overkill considering it is 5 seconds and it will come down to world ranking points!
