Parkhurst are super comfortable. I am a Grant Stone guy but I'm starting to lean towards Parkhurst as my go-to brand. They just released the Niagara (Indy boot) in spruce kudu.

Glad to see more videos about Parkhurst. Would like to first say Andrew is such a great person and I'm happy to support his business. The 602M last is amazing as well. Hope they come out with more leathers. I do own a 618 the cognac and they are beauties. The leather is very soft for a veg tan. Not sure how much it will patina, but that doesn't matter cause they are a joy to wear. My thoughts on Viberg vs Parkhurst is that they are entirely different but if you can't afford a new Viberg boot a Parkhurst is just as good. Viberg is doing higher spi now and that's not everyones preference. They are over refining things now and have passed their peak aesthetic which was a lower spi, less eyelets and the heel shelf. Parkhurst is hitting those.

Thanks for your thoughts on this model. I purchased the cognac veg tan model, planning on wearing it for the thunderdome contest -- I hope the 618 will be as comfortable for me as the 602 and 602M. I am interested in your upcoming discussion of value for the cost versus Viberg. I love the recent Viberg releases, but the Parkhurst models are roughly half the price and are as beautiful and certainly made well enough for my use cases. Thanks, Ashwin. I'll be checking on your dome progress this fall and winter.

Those midsoles took 3 days to break in they aren't thick at all its a double layer, really nice and flexy...try some PNW boots for a midsole from hell :) My Tempesti parkhursts are full or creases its kinda hideous how one boot is like granny skin the other is not very wrinkly. Still these are nice boots the 618 is a combination last, good skinny ankle, not high volume instep but a room toe box...its unique fit makes for a nice comfortable all day comfort. I like it a lot. But the proprietary last means its gonna be difficult to fit an outsole when a resole is needed. I'm looking at replacing them when they wear with a Vibram Rideway.

Great review. Those are beautiful looking boots. I have a pair of Parkhurst (602 last) and find them very comfortable. I was surprised to hear about a celastic heel counter/stiffener in addition to a leather counter. I’ve heard about the celastic toe stiffener, but never the heel. Is that something that Andrew confirmed?

I don’t see a “Burgundy” color on the website - did you mean “Bordeaux”?
@RPrairie7614 күн бұрын
Yes sometimes Bordeaux is interchangeable with Burgundy. Similar color would be Color #8 Chromexel from other various brands like Thursday and Grant Stone.

I've been looking at the Chestnut and Burgundy options. These look great, I love a darker burgundy. Did the polish and other products you used at the start change the color much?

Basically no change in color at all. So what you are seeing is pretty accurate - I also have a pic up on my Instagram (same name) with the color in natural light
