As a former property manager it always blows my mind when people think it’s ok to leave a car in that condition on the property, and then have the nerve to pile garbage bags on top of it. You were too patient with that woman IMO.

I hope her boyfriend treats her well. For her to go out there and try to get the car released and not towed is his responsibility not hers. Then when they came to get the car she was carrying both tires at once. That BF really owes her big time. But woi this chick was so whiny. Car is not a wreck at all, body was super clean. That's an 1989-1993 Toyota Celica. Pretty clean for being 30 years old. The trash laying on it was absolutely ridiculous though. It just needed the axle replaced. But I guess you cant work on your car in an apartment.. or at least you better get permission and get it done as quickly as possible. One of the many reasons I would never live in an Apt or HOA community.

You did a great job not only loading the car damage free but talking with her as well. She has to know that the apartment complex does not allow repairs like that to be done on their property. All the ones around here want even let you change your oil in their parking lots! Another problem as you mentioned was all the trash and garbage all around the car. She was unfair to put Johnny through all that nonsense when he was only trying to do his job. The rules are the rules....tenants who leave stuff laying around the apartment's parking lot don't understand (or don't care, or both) that oftentimes the property can be fined by code enforcement if they allow that garbage to be left sitting around. Johnny, as always, handled this like a true professional.

If I heard her say "I understand" one more time I would've skipped this one but I'm glad I didn't have to. Blows my mind how people think they have the right to run their own personal auto repair shop in an apartment parking lot when their car breaks down. Shenanigans: My apartment building's owner has the same policy. He had two cars yanked before for the same reason. The owners weren't happy but it clearly states on the leases of each tenant that car repairs are not allowed on the property. There are even signs posted around the property that states that.

First Warning? Your lease says you can't keep a car in that condition on property. You signed the lease so you received the warning. Second Warning? You have been towed before. You know they don't play. Final warning on the sticker? Yep that's how it works. I bet his car isn't registered with the property either.

Exactly this. Just more time wasted. First he spent ages trying to explain to her why it has to be towed, then she wants to call the office and argue with them and Johnny still has to wait. He's got a job to do and his employer has more cars that need to be towed as soon as possible - or they might lose their contracts - so he can't spend an hour just standing there while she endlessly argues with everyone to try to stop the inevitable. Maybe her plan was to waste so much of Johnny's time that he would simply be forced to drop the car and go to the next job because he couldn't wait anymore.

The parts,trash, etc seem to have been here for a while with No One showing an interest in taking it to be fixed. I know every lease I have signed straight up has stated that all cars parked must be fully registered and able to drive or they will be removed. She could be evicted. She broke her lease. I'm sure her lease prohibits working on cars AT ALL in the parking lot. Her first warning is in the lease she signed, then she received another the day before. This isn't baseball. Three strikes aren't required.

Good job ! So sad to see a truly classic car in this condition. Had a 93 celica gt that I modded back in the day, handled great. Loved those headlights ! Was a tuff lift but you got it w/o a scratch !

Yank it ... the heck with her. The drive shafts (dog bones) are laying there next to the torsion bar. She should know that an apartment lot is not where junk cars are stored.

Take it!!!! I believe she sad at least two warnings and one was the final warning and said its not fair. Sounds like victimhood to me. Doesn't even throw the trash out. What a piece of work. This would teach her a very valuable lesson. She should have taken care of it on the first warning.
