I had the privilege of meeting Michael Palin at a book signing in December 2009. Not only is he charm personified but he is genius. A brilliant man.

Michael has the same attitude that Anthony Bourdain went on to elucidate on his food travels. When people offer you their food, you accept it, because they are offering you something of themselves. It is a beautifully poetic notion and I have no doubt there is a significant truth in there, but I can't help but feel that I'd not be quite so gracious if I someone gave me a plate of eyes.
