Really great bloke and fabulous actor. I’ve said it millions of times before but will say it again - AWP Series 2 (Thornley Manor and Spain) was the best comedy drama series ever seen on TV.

That's right. Tim once said himself that his ''Trouble And Strife' is actually from the Black Country and so when he first found out that he had got the role of Barry in 'Auf Wiedersehen Pet', they just visited her family for two weeks and he nicked all their sayings. 'Bostin'!'

I never knew or appreciated him as an actor or Barry from AWP. Now, I admire both the man and the characters he plays. He really grows on you to the point of awesomeness. He's not just funny and talented but also a clever and decent guy. Love him to bits now... :)

The first two series were sublime: hilariously funny, raw, gritty , poignant …the following series … totally contrived crap.
@stephenalanmoore72782 жыл бұрын
I think that the arrogant Jimmy Nail probably had too big an influence on it, which ruined the series. All the BBC ones were overblown, contrived, far fetched PC crap.
@leemorris29242 жыл бұрын
@@stephenalanmoore7278 "PC crap". Utter nonsense. They were just as un-PC as the first two series. Did you actually watch them?
@stephenalanmoore72782 жыл бұрын
@@leemorris2924 Not only did I watch them all when originally broadcast (as well as subsequent repeats), I also happen to own all four series and the final 'Special' on DVD, too. So contrary to what you choose to believe, I DID watch all of the BBC 'Revival' episodes from 2001 until 2004 and I had high hopes for them, but they WERE full of typical BBC political correctness. For instance, Oz's son Rod turning out to be gay, Wayne's son Wyman being mixed race, Barry's first wife Hazel becoming a rampant lesbian (despite the fact that in Series Two, she was portrayed by actress Melanie Hill as an avid man chaser) plus the Navajo tribesman being portrayed far too cloyingingly and sympathetically. It was like they were going out of their way not to offend any minority, which made the new series too bland and predictable for me. Now before going any further, I also want to make it clear that I am neither racist nor homophobic, it's just that I feel that the inevitable creeping in of political correctness into the series ruined it for original fans such as myself. There were some little reminders of what the series was originally which I enjoyed, but they were too few and far between, in my opinion. Therefore, as I stated in my earlier comment, the first two series are easily my favourites and always will be. However, if you prefer the later BBC ones, then that is fair enough. Horses for courses.
