Thanks, yes it’s only 2 1/4” more in track gauge than 5” but it makes a difference to the size of locos and stock. Atb Michael

many years ago (90's) there was talk of putting another loop in to bypass the station area on the inside behind the signal box

It’s a great railway as it is ,but they do tend to evolve over time, my garden railway was always being changed, although now I haven’t got any more room.
