Parkour over 40? 50? You can start parkour at any age, but if you are older taking lessons is really the smart thing to do. Being 54 taking lessons is the way to go to avoid big injures; its all about learning the technique. I came into my 40's with debilitating back pain and a cane, with the right people in your life you can improve just about any situation.

58 yo here, started karate 2 year ago, got really fit but what we learned I couldnt really apply in real life. Then I discovered parkour vids and was smitten, so have been doing gymnastics (not much in the way of parkour classes in Australia) for a year now. Its great to see others at my age realising the value in what some might consider reckless, In fact I have a very physically demanding job (construction and installation) that has become much easier with my improved balance and learned techniques. Great video, never stop moving and never stop pushing yourself. Cheers.

Just remember to take it slow. I did have a shoulder injury after trying a lache that was too far. 9 months to get it healed back. So I limit what I try and would rather take baby steps and get better over time rather than take a big gutsy move and be laid up. Good luck 💪👍

Sounds great. I am 55 and work out at the gym with wights. Now would love to add some conditioning to work outs along with stretching, flexing, balancing so I can move through my world smoothly. Thanks

I'm 17, I started actually doing parkour more about a 1-1.5 years ago [I was just a pseudo traceur from 12-14 onwards, and just a kid/preteen who would be physically active, run, jump around, and "climb" (that was literally just holding onto whatever railings in the playground or branches in a tree and manage to get up, and I still couldn't even do a beginner wall climb up until 2021 when I started learning)], and I'm a beginner at parkour (I'm still at least somewhat decently progressed for a beginner, but I definitely wouldn't call myself intermediate yet), so Ik I'll be fine when I get older. I can currently do a Nipples Over The Wall Climb up, 8' height drop onto grass (if I'm not sore), and probably 6' and definitely 5' onto concrete (again if I'm not sore), and I obviously don't wear all of that on my feet because it messes with everything. And then I can also do some precision jumps, dive kongs, other vaults, dive rolls in grass, and I'm starting to learn how to do a dyno. Also, if you can manage to get up onto a wall by leaning on your elbows and stepping up one foot at a time (if not, then at least learn that because it should be free), I recommend learning wall climb ups and flick ups (practice them at low height first and/or carefully bring both feet up at the same time), and it helps to have a considerable sense of balance and staying upright/landing on your feet (not that you aren't, but your flow line just looks choppy, except I'll actually stop making assumptions based on your flow line because just starting doesn't necessarily mean horrible balance) for when you can't make it up the wall and you have to land back down, or if you mess up the flick up, plus it helps to learn box jumps and bounce backs. I never thought of this as I always had a decent sense of balance ofc, plus I was wayyyyyyy far past this stage of physical abilities anyways when I started learning climb ups and even box jumps. So this part still could just help anyone else.

If there are any parkour gyms near you it would be a great way to start. I’m fast approaching 60 and really miss going to mine, maybe it’ll open up some time. Good luck

@@danpontoon there's no parkour gyms near me but I used to skate up until 30 so I'm no stranger to eating concrete 😂. Only problem is im now twice the weight I was when I skated so I may hit the ground a little bit harder
