I mean yeah it’s pretty gross but it did take over a year of studies and research by subject experts and doctors to come to the conclusion that certain contaminants are essentially impossible to avoid in industry-scale food preparation, while also being essentially safe, if gross, to consume. Of course it’s going to get MUCH worse now that the Supreme Court struck down Chevron, we’re looking at food and water quality (among other things) going waaaaay down in any states that don’t pass local legislation that meets or exceeds federal standards. And lots of smaller red states that don’t have domestic food production will essentially have to take whatever compromises food preparation companies choose to make in terms of quality just to avoid having empty supermarket shelves.

Nor really a critique of capitalism and more of a critique of kleptocracy. Capitalism is simply a system where the means of production is held by private individuals like when the Dutch sailors decided to buy shares in each other's trips in order for there families to not go bankrupt since 1/10 ships sank. Kleptocracy on the other hand is exactly what sweeties represent. Basically rich use there money to crush competition and pass laws against the masses self interest for increased profit.

I'd like to think all the blondes who work at Sweetums don't even know what their sweets taste like. Like they're all vegetarian yoga moms despite them working for the personification of diabetes.

Oof to Ben looking at the camera after the Sweetums woman came in and thought giving a school a new seesaw would do enough to make up sending people to the hospital.😓 The scene with Sweetums proposing “Drink-Ems” reminds me of “Idiocracy.”😓 Also, the parks department raving on their sugar rush is so weirdly funny.😂😅

It’s a really good running joke, about the fact that the general public is too stupid to know what’s good for them, and care about the world. It’s unfortunately seen everyday in real life.

What's crazy, is at the end, Denver Newport (the dudes' son) looks like Ryan from "The Boys". But they're not the same actor, but the actor for Denvers' name is actually Ryan XD (Sorry I had to look it up, I could've sworn they were the same person).
