If I'm not mistaken, you can almost see him jump up a tiny bit before he lets himself fall (in the most uncontrolled way possible)...This reminds me of when cartoon characters lay themselves flat out before they hit the ground, in this comically exaggerated way. Break and hip-hop dancing have similar moves. But we know that Andy is not doing this to be comical or entertaining -- he actually thinks this method will make him LESS noticeable. My god, I love this mentally-bereft character and how this actor really gets into the total spirit of him. It's just friggin wonderful.

I have been laughing for about 12 minutes and playing back - Andy hitting himself in the face with the wall THEN launching the hammer square into the worst place on the wall as he falls off his chair - Leslie's utter discouragement at Jeff absolutely blowing his chance with Ann by comparing her to his sister - Ron F@%king Swanson trying to frisbee a hamburger into his mouth using only a flick of his wrist because he has a hernia and can't move... I have already seen this many, many, many times. But every time I see it, I laugh until my head hurts. It's a beautiful thing.
