The irony is that Ron was shown to be one of the government's most valuable assets, as his no-nonsense attitude to resource usage meant the P&R department's budget was properly controlled while the rest ballooned.

The show really was an idealization of how government worked: Despite the many diverse backgrounds of its workers, including people who hated the government, it all came together because the workers cared about something. Whether that be the civilians or each other, it was the caring that worked.

Their have been several indigenous tribes and many towns in the far north that have lived of off almost entirely meat and fish with very little supplements, mainly in the form of alcohol for drinking.
