This one needs an algorithm revival. Heard this song for the first time in a WoW PvP Video in 2017. The creator had a disclaimer recognizing not all viewers would vibe with it. I was 17, discovered In Flames & Soil Work at 13. Avid fan ever since, caught their first Canadian tour in 2019, maybe 2020, the only show they've ever played in Winnipeg, on my birthday. Flew two and a half hours to see them again in 2017, flight left the next day. Best Metalcore band of all time. Good fuckin job boys.

P.S. Don't know if some of you guys know, the phrase 'Smoke em if you got 'em' originated in WWI or WWII, forget which. But it was basically before going in to battle, the commanding officer would bark 'Smoke em if you got 'em', because you're going into battle and may die and may as well have a fuckin smoke or two just in case. That last itching for a smoke.
@thatbrit20058 жыл бұрын
+Uday Thambimuthu you're sort of right...... The phrase "Smoke 'em if you got 'em" was popular in the military during World War II, meaning to take a break. Officers would say "Smoke 'em if you got 'em", allowing the soldiers to take a break and smoke their cigarettes. "if you got' em" referred to the vagaries of war.
@udaythambimuthu31768 жыл бұрын
But you're probably gonna get blown to all hell too. Landmines, mortars, tanks, or maybe you'll just end up catching a bullet or a bayonet. War is gristly, brutal shit. But it also contains acts of heroism that deserve to be recognized. Hence medals of honor

***** yeah i agree, the first time i listned to atlas i was expecting some huge breakdowns but a lot of the songs are pretty tame compared to their last 3 albums, i wouldn't hope for their next album to be any heaver as they said they wanted to move even farther toward what they did on atlas.
@VileAnthony10 жыл бұрын
Well lol now I've listen to atlas more it rocks. They have awesome breakdowns in the album but yeah hopefully next album is better

I think one of the main factors of Parkway Drive's change in style, is because Adam D (Killswitch Engage) is no longer producing/editing their albums. I'm pretty sure he produced "Killing with a smile" and "Horizons". In those albums there was such a different tone from the guitars, more chunky and badass sounding. Also, such bone-crushing breakdowns from those albums as well lol... However, Parkway Drive have totally decided to go in a different direction with their music now. Still awesome but, different...
@FortyEightFiftySix2 ай бұрын
I first heard this song in like 2005 when I was like 13 or 14 on limewire before KWAS came out and accidentally downloaded the Prom Queen/Parkway split and they had the demo of this song in there and I immediately went to go learn it on drums man what I would give to go back to those days

BounceTo TheBeat I totally understand what you mean, that's why I said 'IRE is awesome in its own way' ;) I don't think they would go mainstream for money on the next records. They have carried the Metalcore torch for 10 years and represent a certain mentality.

If you're listening to Parkway Drive for breakdowns then you are listening to the wrong band. Yes, they have breakdowns but they were never a band solely based around them, bands that do that blow. Parkway's guitarists are extremely talented and they are great songwriters. Their riffs are unlike anyone else's.
@splatbats10 жыл бұрын
"Their riffs are unlike anyone else's". So I'm guessing you've never heard At the Gates, In Flames, Killswitch Engage, Amon Amarth, Darkest Hour, Trivium, I Killed the Prom Queen, As I lay Dying, Dark Tranquility, August Burns Red, All That Remains, Unearth, Arch Enemy, or any other melodeath/metalcore band.
