This song never fails to make me cry, two years ago this February i lost my aunt and uncle (age 26 and 29) in an accident caused by a drunk driver. The phrase "its not the years in your life, but the life in your years" is truly beautiful. Please always have a designated driver and drive safe guys, you never know if your fun night out with friends will rob someone else of something irreplaceable.

My godfather disappeared on valentines day 2012. Weeks later they found his body in the St. Croix River in St. Paul, MN. It was believed he committed suicide. Everytime I hear this song it just breaks my heart but at the same time I find peace. It's one of the most beautiful fucking songs I have ever heard.

@macewhite73404 жыл бұрын
This is on of the best heavy songs ever writen. Holy shit. So good.
@anoceanbetweenus8911 жыл бұрын
It's about a person that commits suicide by walking into the river and filling their pockets with stone. The river is essentially a metaphor for death. The person no longer wanted to live a life of pain. The river (death) was speaking to the person and they eventually committed the act of suicide by the means explained above. It''s one of the most beautifully written songs I have ever heard in my fucking life.
@EternalxFrost11 жыл бұрын
Actually, it's not about someone who commits suicide. It's about one of their closest friends that went is Bosnia to jump off a bridge as an extreme sport and died. So it's not really a suicide, it's more about an accident.
@anoceanbetweenus8911 жыл бұрын
You are very right sir, I totally forgot about that. I did hear that the story in the song actually refers to the suicide of Virginia Woolf a British author and feminist who committed suicide in the exact manner the song explains but i think the underlying meaning of this song is about their friend.

My 2 year old nephew drowned 7 years ago. This is my sisters release when she just needs to have a good cry. It's a reminder how beautiful both life and death are. And my nephews passing made me ok with my own. I'm not sure what inspired this song, but it feels as if they also understand loss. This song is burned into my whole family's hearts.
