Did any of you guys think about the fact that Vice Grip could just be for live shows, something to get the crowd excited? Or since the new album is called Ire, this is the first song and the album gets progressively darker and heavier. This song isn't perfect but I still like it. Just because its lighter and overall pretty different from their other stuff, doesn't mean they're selling out. Don't jump to conclusions. Also, I don't know why I've seen so many people are hating on ABR's new album on this video. Its fucking awesome, nearly as good as Rescue and Restore.

This song is a monument to those who lost hope. Never give up, you are stronger than you know. The light in the darkness!!! Fuck Yeah PWD, you fucking nailed it! You get knocked down, you get the fuck back up and you fucking FIGHT!
@marcbow8 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment, brother! Life is good now, but the road has been more difficult than anything I could have ever predicted. If there are any ways I can reach out and help others who are down in whatever way, then that is what I will do. It is through the kindness of strangers and the beauty of humanity that I am here today able to type these words. Yes, humans can be ugly and do terrible things to each other, but our capacity for good is just as limitless. On topic, it seems like a rather sizable portion of Parkway Drives' music is geared towards Strength: not strength of arms, but the Strength of brotherhood (sister too!), Strength of character, strength of compassion, Strength to help others and do whats right! "Twelve years I’ve fought for this Twelve years, my heart still beats For the ones who’ve stood beside me Through the values that define me No compromise, no surrender These beliefs, they make me whole Never the breaker, promise keeper Remains the ethic instilled in me" - Parkway Drive "Dedicated" -

i fuck with the 80s vibe on this one, and i doubt that this is what the whole album will sound like. they've been experimenting with "uplifting" songs sparingly, like Dream Run, and they've said in interviews that the new album still maintains their core sound. also, they've been a band for over 10 years now, they aren't going to write shit like Gimme A D or Smoke Em If You Got Em anymore lol they've toned down on their angst since they are in their 30s. still...i miss the harmonized tapping riffs

Yeah. I was freaking out, no longer. I really need my brain to turn off though. It grabs an idea and runs with it until extinguished, regardless of how small, upsetting or infuriating that idea might be. I research until most of the available information has been exhausted and or verified. Doesn't matter if its 6am or midnight. Very irritating, actually. Also, rapists deserve the electric chair. Don't fucking do that shit. Especially not to anyone I know, you assholes with no self control. You know who you are, and I'm judging you. Just pissed I don't get to sit on the jury.

PurpleIsALetter I love the album as well, but why would I want an album that is just like it? People complain all the time that so many bands sound the same. Parkway Drive has consistently changed it's sound while staying the same. If all they did was release an album that sounded the same as the last, why would you even listen to them?

Want to hear more? I went to a show last year and was at the front with many other fellow metalheads. There was a lady who had a small boy with her, obviously her son and asked if he could be at the very front to see the band. We were more than happy to do that. She asked myself and another dude next to me to help shield him in case of moshes and crowd surfing and we did. But nobody crowd surfed or moshed during the show, it turned out they all knew there was a kid there and didn't want to risk hurting him. I do recall a couple of girls behind me telling the guys around them not to mosh because of the boy. His mother thanked us for looking after him. We are not even remotely the monsters or troublemakers that some ignorant fools like to make us out to be.

People ask me all the time how I listen to bands like this and ask how can I understand the lyrics. I often wonder how people don’t listen to this. How do you not understand the lyrics? I sometimes wonder if people that have experienced pain, trauma, anxiety/depression are the only ones that can feel this kind of music.
@jakemealey5532 Жыл бұрын
Imo metal does have lyrics that can be hard to understand but at the same time only lyrically due to vocals but you can feel what they are saying and by extension discern what they are trying to say. Example: Heaven Shall Burn’s Combat which is about kids being drafted into the military and their lives being ruined and their childhoods becoming just a facade and maybe not even real to them given their often lack of a perceived cruelty in the world. It’s a shock to their minds but the song itself is hard to understand lyrically given the vocals in fact I had to look up the lyrics but the vocals at the same time push to hammer their raw message forward to the point that yes lyrics help to understand it but the vocals do more than enough to sell the true meaning of the song not to mention the video. That’s why I love metal so much. The vocals, the instruments and everything else give way to a true masterpiece in almost every metal song in existence.

I actually really dig this, usually when bands go lighter it just ends up sounding boring but this has an 80s flavour imo and it's really catchy, I think this new sound will help them grow onto bigger things... That's if the whole album is like this, for all we know it might still be the usual

I don't care what the haters think, they came from nothing as a band sleeping in the woods on tour, and made it this far.. I hope they go mainstream. The real fans will be here. It's not like the old albums will disappear.
