I got to see Parkway Drive in LA the other night with Memphis May Fire. I have to admit I was there for MMF, I really had no idea who Parkway Drive was. Holy $ht, I can't stop listening to them. The thing I like the most about this band and specifically this song is that the vocalist are well blended into the instruments. I often see that American or western metal bands often focus too much on the vocalist, but c'mon the instrumental part is what gets me going... This vocalist is not too much, or not too weak either. He featuring this vocals well with each instruments. Very good mastering and mixing.

I like it nevertheless. I think you guys should listen to the whole album first, before you condemn the whole album. If you don't like the songs that already have been released so far its okay. Just don't listen to them. At Ire there have been a few "untypical" songs too ( Like devil's calling ,Vice Grip or a deathless song), nonetheless Ire is a great album and Im sure a lot of people share the same opinion. Maybe there will be a few songs on Reverence you like. U don't have to like the whole album. Wait for the release and then build you're own opinion, without beeing prejudiced. I can't wait to hear those songs live.

I was first introduced to Parkway Drive in 2008 by a band member who was a total Core kid,and dismissed them as another metalcore band, although good, they were just breakdowns and catchy riffs. 10 years later i revisited the band and am COMPLETELY blown away by how fucking good their last 2 albums are and the evolution of the band. They've grown up, theyve matured, endured losses, gotten married and made lifes for themselves, of coarse they're going to change!! After watching the documentary on them i have so much more respect for every single member. Parkway is leaving their staple on the METAL map, not metalcore not any other sub genre. As Winston recently said in an interview, they will be known as Parkway Drive, not a generic metalcore band thats been forgotten with time. KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK GUYS!!! WE FUCKING LOVE YOU!!! Yup, too many metal fans want their bands to drive around in the same fucked up shitty van, eating cheap pussy, drinking stale beer, living in the Motel in that part of town you don't go to at night, and dead broke so they have no choice but to make the same sounding music to appease the fans that will just go and download it for free anyway. smh. Only then does the band get acknowledged as being "authentic" or true to their "roots". If they get paid, buy big houses, marry chicks with huge tits, and drive nice cars......well then they are sellouts.

I went through a lot of genres and I think they feel it the same way. Everyone sometimes feels an urge for change and I defo agree with it. very confusing mix of songs so far.. kinda liking it tho.. 🤔
@watertouchesthesun6 жыл бұрын
Yeah 'confused' is the right word. Not in a terrible way, but think some of these songs need to be listened to in the context of the whole album, not just as singles.

I actually think this is what makes PWD. I find them to be one of the most versatile metal(core) bands ever. Imo they never had a bad record.

Lyrics wise, everything seems to be good but the songs still lack something, I don't know if it's aggression but I think it's more to do with the tone of the guitars. However, towards the end of this song where there's a little guitar line before the breakdown, it kinda sounded familiar, which I liked. The thing that concerns me though is that Winston said on IG that what the band is capable of in the way of playing ability is "irrelevant". Now coming from a frontman, that seems like a very careless way of looking at it. He's essentially saying that the bands talent/potential doesn't matter. Which means there might not be much creativity in the instruments for the remainder of this album.

SinNombre97 honestly I'm satisfied with all their releases , my favorite albums have to be their first three because if the filthy heaviness but lyrically and instrumentally thier best stuff is atlas and ire, its a hard medium to find the sweet spot inbetween, hopefully the rest of this album is THAT sweet spot
@AlbertSpartan1176 жыл бұрын
I feel the same, also my favorite album is KWAS, but i feel they take the right way, i mean for me they still being so heavy (if u see them live u will know what im talking about) and they said that REVERENCE will be stronger and heavier than IRE so too much hype for this¡

SinNombre97 I saw them in January @sydney their horizons tour, was the best thing ive ever witnessed, plus they had my second fav band there, POLARIS (those guys are going somewhere)

Cosmo Kramar Atlas to me was the best thing they did to satisfy both fanbases. I like breakdowns but not all of the time.
