This Parmak is our first Solar Electric Fence Charger. It is about $100 cheaper than the Premier1 Supplies Solar Charger and does a fantastic job. We are only about 2 weeks in using it but it's been a great energizer so far!

Did this Parmak fencer end up working well with the Premier1 fence?

Yup. Used for years with premier1 fence for pigs. I now have 3 of these i like em so much. Use with pigs, around delicate veggies, around new trees and berries to keep deer out with multistrand. Used with all types of fences over the years.

What kind of animals are you keeping in using this with the electric netting?

Our American Guinea Hogs. We tried chickens with the netting but that was a flop. We actually are using this particular solar charger now for a double strand electric fence and have another solar charger for the premier 1 netting for our boar.

I have this but since the autumn equinox i am having issues. I dont' think the solar is charging enough. Have you had that issue?

We've had some issue as it gets darker longer. But only usually if someone went wrong and it got drained all the way. It struggles to regain it's charge in winter but usually holds it pretty well. I've heard of people up north fruther having to swap em out every few weeks to let them charge while not in use.

How many miles is capacity?

Manufacturer says 25 miles. I've never used more than a mile of wire on it yet to test that out.

Dang, yeah I saw it's no longer Prime either. Still a good bit cheaper than the cheapest Premier 1 ones and those are like .3 jules vs this one being 1.4 jules. Ours is still going strong, though our fence is getting funky.
