If you're wondering why you don't get much of a shock by standing while holding a blade of grass to the wire. Get on your knees, and put your feet in the air while touching the wire. Use a copper grounding wire that goes a minimum of four feet into the ground.

Thanks such a helpful post. The parmak seems to me the best choice for my needs(goats and serious predators). Do have insulation in ground field?

We ran a bare 12g wire from the ground terminal to the 3 ground rods. Works great. Bear in mind we did an updated review of the Parmak Magnum 12 in our DIY solar fence charger video is the review on that charger was terrible. Customer Service was zero help. The Solar Pak 12 's we have are still working very good, but I'll never buy another Parmak product. The Magnum 12 model we purchased was pure junk.

You said nothing about t.he power pax 12 and where you got your solar panel and hoe many watts and how to wire it up

Im not sue what a "power pax 12" charger is, we were discussing the Solar Pak 12 model in this particular vid. The solar panel come with this unit, its a "all in one" package. Thanks for watching, appreciate it!

What voltage output are you getting from your unit I'm only getting like 4 so not sure if it's doing ok

At the terminals around 8k-9k. On my fence (about 2 acres, 5 strands 12 gauge smooth wire) averages 6 - 6.5k on actual fence. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

@@bamaredneck8354 When I first put my chargers out I left them in full sunlight for about 5 days before hooking them to the lead wires to fence/ground to get the battery to full charge. I didnt buy the plug-in 120v charger is it was, in my opinion, excessive in price for what it was. I have 2 of these chargers and they work great. However...if you havent, read the video description below the video. I wouldnt have any hope in Parmak customer service. They will probably tell you ifs your fault if your charger doesnt perform well.
