Dave and Deb of The Planet D take you to Brazil where they get up close and personal with the jungle wildlife of Iguazu Falls. The Bird Park, Parque das Aves is a main attraction and must visit when traveling to Iguazu. Here they rehabilitate birds that have been rescued at borders from traffickers trying to smuggle them into other countries. As the park said to us, birds go through so much in this world and many of these have suffered. We give them a haven to live out their days in peace.

we're at the Bird Park here in Iguazu Falls and behind me are a bunch of
Flamingo. Isn't it awesome?
So we're here in Parque das Aves
In Iguazu and it's this amazing
bird park and what's so special about
this you get really close to get into
the aviaries here in the park. So you can get right up and close with all the birds
And what else is interesting is that half of
the birds here are rescues and half are
actually bred here. So it's doing such a
great thing for birds that are have gone
through trafficking and then also helping
to support the bird population by
breeding them here.
An amazing place to come if you are in Iguazu.

We're having a conversation
Behind me is the Arav. I can't say it!
Aradajuba bird and these used to be really endangered, but they breed really well in captivity
so their numbers are coming back
So it goes to show that places like this
are doing great things.
Look at how friendly and cute they are.
Don't you just want to hug them?
But don't put your fingers near them, they will tear it off.
They're strong, I'm telling you.
We're half way through. Want a little rest?
so when you go into the aviaries, you come in, you stop through one door and then the other.
So the birds don't get out.
Birds aren't the only thing here, there's local reptiles to view as well.
We're in the butterfly house here
Butterflies flying all around.
I think there's some humming birds in here too.
So we had a great time here at the Bird park in Iguazu Falls.
We got to see parrots, we got to see flamingos.
Tons of birds, butterflies, you name it.
it really really is super interesting so
if you come to Iguazu Falls,
Make sure you hit the bird park.
