This has to be one of the best videos I've seen explaining the camping at Oshkosh. Those tie downs are amazing just don't forget to bring your hammer drill 😆. I am looking forward to the rest of the footage you guys captured that week . Thanks as always for taking the time to film and bring us along.

That was nice too watch! It does remind me of all my years going camping, but only bringing some really basic stuff. Some times with only a very tiny tent and a sleeping bag (using my coat as a pillow) as it was a long walk from the train station to the camping site. And yes, it can get very cold at night in a tent!! It helps to lay an aluminium mat below the mattress on the ground.

So glad the weather behaved for you guys. One time we went it was so hot , hotter there than Kentucky, it was quite miserable that year. Even had tornado warnings! Those big screws looked so simple to use and doesn't take up much room they look to be a awesome product. More times than not you'll need them for Osh. Glad you guys enjoyed your first time to Osh. The best part of Osh are the people.

I think we did win the weather lottery! The good thing was that the loudspeakers went off for the weather warnings so we had time to prepare. I have to agree that it’s the people that make Osh so much fun. We spent the days before the show started just visiting and sitting on the flight line watching planes arrive!

Awesome video Ron and Janis!! It was great getting to meet up at the youtuber gathering! I think I had to put my hoodie on one morning as well.. I looked at those big screws and ended up getting 3 super beefy auger style anchors at tractor supply. I used a piece of galvanized pipe to turn them into the ground and some 1/2 poly rope to secure to the hooks. 5 nights under the stars!!! I love it!

Yep - we needed more covers at night and we would have been perfect. The weight and small size of the Big Screws made a difference for us - remember Ron’s traveling with a WOMAN! 😁 So glad we got to see you - we seem to always have a conflict with A&C events and they all are a bit far for us to travel to in one day. Maybe we’ll make one this fall.

Nice video on the Airventure camping experience. Did that last year. Tried tent camping in Camp Scholler this year since I flew up commercially. Would NOT recommend. The only way I would camp in Camp Schollar is in a fully equipped RV. Not enough bath houses. I was almost a mile from the nearest one. I ended up leaving and staying with friends at their Airbnb. Working on getting a group of fellow aviators from Monroe together so we can all fly up there and camp together next year. Airventure is like no other place…….
