You hit return home it hovers a meter above where it thinks it took off from and then you hit the green land button on the bottom of your screen.

The bebop is supposed to just hover when it returns. You can also still control it while it returns of need be. How is the live video feed since the jan 26th update?

I have this Drone, it does return and hover right above the home point , only if the battery is at "critical " will it then land itself to obviously avoid just dropping from the sky.. it won't return to the same inch , but it will return just like the video showed , within a few feet . so when you start off just make sure you have a good solid 5 foot radious for it to come back to and wait

+yoyo marsh Without a doubt! Very possible! I always fly in a safe and wide-open area. No need to risk drone death by tree.

yoyo, make sure you are above 20m then go higher than any trees before pressing Return home. If it is below 20m then it will only go up to 20m. If you are above 20m, it will return at that height. If you think you will lose connection, make sure you are above all trees. And by all means do NOT launch under anything. Make sure you have clear air over your launch (home) spot.

How many meters do you get for height before it loses connection on a smart phone ??

I haven't been brave enough to take it over 30 meters high with my tablet , not that anything bad would happen anyways as it will just hover in place until it regains connection or if the battery gets low it will start lowering to the ground to land at which point if need be you could regain control in case it's above a tree or something

I've been able to take up to 50m (~164ft) but I have noticed a slight lag when turning up there. fun though!

That feature is not available for use yet, Parrot says they are going to add it "soon", but who knows how long that could be..

the little drone icon at the bottom of your screen has to turn from yellow to green, now the drone is "gps locked" and u can to the return to home

Hello Irix Guy, i just purchased the bebop and skycontroller. I put the skycontroller to the test and it is absolutely fluid smooth with the joy sticks! Just have one concern, my gps lettering turned green and when i attempted to press the return home button it did not move at all. Prior to the flight I choose a different frequency because I was told that 2.4 ghz freq is great when trying to get max alt. and 5ghz is better for fpv and video quality. I enjoyed your videos and they are extremely helpful, please help me with this situation.

Nice demonstration, just curious seeing as you're a long time phantom user. So far how confident are you that you can use this as a compact alternative? Do you find yourself wishing you would have the vision + most of the time or does it seem like it could get the job done for the most part?

papa8706 I love my Vision+. I have the Skycontroller now and will field test it this weekend. Stay tuned to see how it compares to the P2V+. I do love the smaller size, even though the Skycontroller is quite large. Think of it this way, should it crash or fly away, replacing the Bebop drone is a fraction of the cost. With that said, I've flown p2V+ several hundred times and have never encountered a fly-away. Let's see how this Bebop performs. I remain optimistic because I do love be the more compact design and no good meal hanging below.

Question: I have the Bebop drone and I live on the 9th floor of a building which is at the roof. I took it for a fly off the roof which is about 90 feet up. I took it out and I'm afraid of getting the drone too far from me using WiFi. If i lose contact, will it automatically return home or do I have to hit the button to do it? . I understand it says the range is 900 feet, but is that from my Android phone or the distance from my WiFi router? I was going to use GPS and use a PreFlight Plan, but again, where I'm staring from 90 feet from the ground, will it measure it from my root top or the actual ground? Any feedback would be great.

+Ty Stallard I always fly in a wide open field. I'd personally never fly in that scenario because it could fall to the ground and potential injure people.

IrixGuy's Adventure Channel Yes, I understand the FAA rules. I was on the roof and never flown over anyone's unit. we have a large rooftop with grass. I did not go over the boundaries of the roof. Can you answer my original question?
