Recalibration is needed every time you take a bad crash. Also removing the bumpers flying outdoors makes it less wind resistance.

a couple of things.. 1. don't use the side guards outside I found it off balances it sometimes, hence it crashing. 2 this was a pretty early model and a lot of updates have been released. 3. don't use 5ghz for more than 10-20 meters it starts to get glitchy. 4. check the settings menu before flight and make sure the drone is on a wifi band that isn't taken. 5. 10 mins of video (roughly 1 battery) uses about 1.2GB of its 8gb storage then you download it to your pc/phone and then delete the internal memory. overall I've used the drone for a month now and im not great but its a very nice drone to learn on. oh yea and one final thing I found when my drone crashes it falls down on its side so it hit its propellers (which makes sense they are only $15 for a 4 pack of blades.)

+Decibel Gaming Well that sounds like my experience on their 2.0 drone (the older model they are still selling). I was happy with it in 4 years until it got that old i would need to replace most of it (not worth it) so i will maybe get this drone soon to replace it. i also has the jumping sumo and it's really cool. Well one of the reasons i go for this is that i can controll them from my computer and use logitech joysticks etc. It's pretty nice. And people watching me fly are always looking on that phone and asking "are you really controlling that with your phone?). i tried the usual RC controller once and i don't feel confortable using them. that's why i like this (able to use stuff like xbox 360 controller).

Looks pretty cool. Only thing. Do I need to be on my home wifi connection to use this?? Or does it connect via Bluetooth and use my cell phone internet connection?

Just a suggestion. But I have my Bebop and I use the nvidia shield as my controller and that is a very good alternative to the sky controller. PLUS you get thumb sticks. Also you should calibrate your drone every time you fly it.
@connorcvetan37049 жыл бұрын
The shield is good but it doesn't get a 2km range like the sky controller

A tip to help you always fly on the grass because if it nose dive then it won't get hurt that much than if it hit the road floor. But you live and learn.

I've noticed once you crash the drone its best to recalibrate the 3 axis. Also the flips works better without the bumpers.

Had the same drift issue indoors. Got a little hairy there for awhile. Like you said there was no manual with the unit and the quick start made no reference to how the battery connected. That took awhile to figure out. Wish I'd seen your video first. Not as user friendly as I hoped. Having second thoughts about it being right for a beginner, especially for the price you've paid.

For the most part mine has done ok...there is definitely a learning curve involved in the UI,but once you get the hang of it,it's pretty fun to fly....the FF3 app works pretty well in Android...I haven't experienced the IOS version....the front camera being potentially exposed to damage during a rough landing is a pretty simple fix....Dremel out a quarter sized hole in the protective cover and glue a small piece of polly-carb in it...that way you can leave the cover on it and still get good video...hope that helps.

Great review, I have the AR Drone 2, and 2 DJI Phantom 2 Vision Plus, yes 2 each of the DJI. I like your review because I think it was fair and you could see what you are saying. There are always issues with new things, the company just has to take a look at what people are saying and doing. I have been thinking about getting the BeBop, because I rent them out to people looking to learn how to use a drone. But for now I will wait on them to fix some of the issues you talked about. Anyway, great job.

I believe the drone doesn't automatically record video once you takeoff. I believe you always have to hit the record button to start/stop recording whenever you want. (Even when your on the ground)

Maybe if you tuck the pull string back into the slot, instead of allowing it to hang out and physically stop the battery from seating properly, Then maybe it will seat better in the battery slot.

It wasn't just yours. My MIL got me a Bebop for Christmas (Thanks Macy!), although I was really looking for a cheap "toy" model until I got the hang of flying a drone. In a nutshell, I think they got caught up so much in putting too much technology into a small package that they overlooked the simple question of "Will it work?". Mine did the fly-to-the-right "hover" too, but I got that under control by making sure I had a GPS lock before take-off. That and re-calibrating it often helps with the control. Only problem with that is while you're doing it, you're using up battery life. Since I'm only getting 8-9 minutes flight time on a full battery , "ain't nobody got time for that!" Connectivity is a big problem. There have been a couple of occasions when I had it about 100 feet up and 200 feet away when it lost connection. By walking towards it, I did manage to get connection back before the battery died and it went into free fall. I also found out that because the battery doesn't fit snugly, I have to lay it to the side to plug the USB cable in.On the plus side, I am getting the hang of flying on a drone, but when I do upgrade, it will probably be another company now.
@YummyLava10 жыл бұрын
this is actually a pretty accurate review. congrats guys for your video! also i can confirm that all of the problems mentioned in this review are real. i was lucky to return the unit before damaging it completely. even that you might learn how to avoid these problems there is something you cannot fix: a very poor video quality, especially in medium light conditions.
@johnnyViDeO9 жыл бұрын
Good, honest review. May I suggest that you change the angle of the talking head camera so your glasses don't reflect the light source? Don't you check your video after you shoot it? Also, there are plenty of places where the video goes out of focus. Jump cuts used to be verboten but I see them all the time. They still look spastic. I think I'll wait for a better drone that can take 4k footage with a more versatile gimbal. This looks like a piece of junk for amateurs. You get what you pay for.

Quick question, with that flightplan thingy where it can automaticaly go to different locations, does it need to stay within the Wi-fi range or will it just return to home when it has completed the flight?

Mr Toby. To be honest it's a ok drone it's too light the wind pushes it to much and when I got the DJI phantom 3 it was a lot better more weight came with a controller (no extra money) it can go further away it has a some what better camera and it can go really high I have gotten the DJI phantom up to 300 ft in the air and I can barley fly the parrot in 5 mph in wind and I like on the DJI that you can move the camera up and down and I have seen both drones in stores near me and they are around the same price and for 400-500 dollars the DJI is the better option and batter life is a lot better

I had a parrot ar 2 drone and i can say that it was a very stable a good drone for beginners. From what i understood from all these reviews from youtube, the ar 2 and the bebop 2 ( without the controller) are kind of the same. Actually, i can see more benefits in buying the ar 2 than the bebop 2 (ofcourse without the controller). I am not saying that the bebop 2 isn't great, i just say it's not worth it. If you want to get a great drone for not that much, you can buy the ar 2 or another drone which may ofer more then the bebop 2. On the other hand, if you want to get a very good drone and you are willing to pay a little more, you should buy the dji phantom 3. I just bought it and there is a mile difference between a bebop and a phantom. And from what i saw, it is not that much of a difference, about 100-200 euros. And if im not mistaken, the bebop 2 with the controller costs the same or even more than the phantom 3 which is much better.
