The controller unit is so nerdy, I love it. I was thinking, it could be cool to use the Parrot Bebop's hover feature as a make-shift "tripod" for a piece to camera. Great review as always, Blunty! There's a reason why my subscription to your channel hasn't ceased since I started my account many many years ago. While I've unsubbed from many channels over the years, never have I once unsubbed from yours due to the consistent quality of your videos.

I fucking love your reviews! You are just way better than anyone else at making review because you know what your talking about! You keep a little humour in your videos without making it look awkward when i see that you've uploaded a video i just have to watch it even if its not something interesting for me it is when your reviewing it! I never thought that drones would ever interest me but since you've started reviewing them, i want one so bad because i want to be able to get amazing shots or just to have fun with it! Keep doing reviews i love watching them!!

Great review. I used to live in Randwick, Sydney and great to see so many places I recognise. I had been thinking about getting the Parrot 2.0 drone and using my Hero4 silver with it though i'm tempted to go for the bebop now. The 1080 camera will be more than enough for my humble needs. Here in the UK the bebop and controller are around £700 and allowing for a decent sized tablet and a couple more batteries etc I reckon i'll be parting with the best part of £1K to set myself up. Not cheap but looks brilliant fun!

It's pretty amazing how stable the footage is, but I just can't stand the high shutter speed look. I know it's needed for the stabilisation, but it's something that would make me go for a dji with a gopro instead. And is there a way to use the app with an xbox controller? It would be a much cheaper way of getting physical control.

Hi Blunty! Got a question for you. With the release of the Behop 2, do you think you will be doing a review on it as well? Also just as a little side comment I have to say I absolutely love your videos. This one in particular has sparked my love of drones and quadcopters. Because of this video I have been looking into purchasing a Bebop from Parrot but since they released the version 2, I was hoping to get your opinion on it and have you put it through it's paces so to speak. Anyway, take care and have a fantastic day!
@jameswillmus6009 жыл бұрын
I can tell you why there's a separate battery connector on the Bebop, so you can use custom batteries. Looks like a fairly standard RC airplane connector. just get a battery that is close to the same weight, and you'll keep the center of gravity. Excellent!

Brilliant review mate! You've sold me just on this demo, my first foray into Drone Aerials. Looks amazingly stable, and I hope they sort out the battery issue and motor cutout function. @PAPO19909 жыл бұрын
You flew quite bravely across quite a large body of water there... I would have thought you'd be at least a LITTLE nervous after that thing that happened previously :P I'd say the velcro strap only ended up there because it carried over from the previous generation AR Drones (I had a 1.0) but there it was OK because the foam shell then covered it. Looking at it, they really should have re-used the mechanism from the charger. But thanks to your endorsement I've now discovered the world of nano-drones, picked up a "neon-X" it seems to be styled a little like a Phantom, and I'm LOVING IT!
@BluntyTV9 жыл бұрын
I had little fear with the Bebop... it holds its own altitude, it has GPS, and it has a clear battery low warning... I had no compunction about taking this beastie over water :) (though it wasn't until my third or fourth set of flights that I was confident enough, had to prove itself before I took that risk again ;) )

Blunty thanks for the review - funny rant lol - have you had any issues with fly aways since you have had it for a while, and tried it with some fpv goggles?

Hey Blunty, do you think I could fly it outdoors with those "indoor" prop protecters while I got the hang of it, vs wrecking it outside after a few amateur attempts inside? Lol, thanks for the vid, another great review.
@BluntyTV9 жыл бұрын
yes absolutely, but it's not advised. The Hull outdoors catches the wind, you'll have less responsive control, it'll be buffeted more, and speed will be affected by the drag.
@giovannigiorgio46229 жыл бұрын
Julian S My Dad and brother just brought this model with the massive controller, In all honesty its been August with high winds and not much flight time outside as the Bebop is recommended for up to 13km/h winds. This model is so so easy to fly. You push a button and it will take off and hover, than digitally turn down all the settings so it will only fly slowly and learn indoors. You could fly it in a double garage with the bumpers with ease. My old man has a heavy hand on the controls and has not crashed it yet....yet.... Recommended. Blunty thanks for the honest review this is the factor that helped in the purchase of this model.

Hey Blunty, loved this review! Been a long time subscriber and this is something that I want to buy! Never have had a quad copter but want to start doing some great flight video. I've had a few RC helicopters and got decent at flying them. Do you recommend me getting another quad Copter to practice first or do you think I can handle this one. I'll be getting the pro controller with it aswell

Hi blunty, you seem to be getting rather sharp footage from the bebop! Just wondering what post processing you are doing to improve sharpness/reduce noise?
@BluntyTV9 жыл бұрын
+Andrew Phipps (Nomad360) I don't do that in reviews. What you're seeing is what I got straight out of camera.
@andyphipps019 жыл бұрын
Hmm wow that looks so much better than what I am getting - I'm not sure if the more stabilisation the drone needs the worse the footage comes out... Or I am doing something when I import into premiere or am exporting with the wrong settings!! Maybe it was just the lighting. What firmware were you running on the drone (if you know off the top of your head?)
@endi34079 жыл бұрын
+Andrew Phipps (Nomad360) do you mean while you are flying? because it will send a highly compressed raw footage to the phone and keeps the good footage for sd card :)

Superb review, quirks an all, well done, one item i would have liked to hear more about was the control modes, eg can it do mode 2 so that conventional pilots can get to grip with it straight away? also what about mode 1 ? and how do the control modes and flying compare to 250 race quads as they are the nearest looking quad,
@BluntyTV9 жыл бұрын
Mike Ellicott The Skycontroller is Mode 2 config, There is currently no option to switch to mode 1, though this could change as the controller runs on android, so in theory a simple patch or firmware update could enable this. If it's something you want, I'd suggest asking parrot about it, if there's enough demand I'm sure they'd accommodate. I see no point in comparing this to racing drones, it's a camera platform. It's not intended or designed to be twitchy or acrobatic, it's designed to be incredibly stable and smooth for effective cinematography.A comparison would be useless at best, fundamentally idiotic at worst.
@mikeellicott69779 жыл бұрын
Blunty Hey Bud, thanks, mode 2 is great, mode 1 was only a question! sorry my comparison to a race drone was in control feel and feedback and not relating to if it stood a chance of keeping up Ha ha ha ! so really how the FC coped in comparison to a CC3D or Naze32 and if a flight mode may compare to "Acro" or "Angle" or "horizon" mode etc
