My Quaker loves to sit on my shoulder when he is out and likes to pick at my face or ears. Not all the time, but once in a while. Once in a great while, he will bite my lip or under my nose for no reason, so I often wonder what is going on. He will mostly step up when I take him out, but sometimes, he will move away from my finger and I tell him that,”well, you know where I am,” and he comes out and sits on his door and then flies right over to me. Am I doing anything wrong here or is this just something they do? He is definitely my bird as my husband isn’t fond of birds, but he has just started to say “hello”, so that;s good. In the morning, my husband comes down first and uncovers him and he is very quiet. When he hears me moving on the stairs, he will say good morning to me, only. And last night, he finally said good night when I was putting him to bed. Happy New Year and thanks for letting me ramble.

when i pet his back, he bobs his head and also flaps his wings too, does it mean that he is just happy?

Hmm hard to know without seeing it and getting some context on overall behavior

@@parrotsco.3224 If tried to record it, he stops his behavior and looks at the camera. he feels comfortable when he is sitting on between my laps and if i pet him from head to wings, he bobs his head with flapping. First time when i saw this , i though that he wanted to smack me on hand by his wings. this is only way i can touch him i can't lift him up or tickle him by my point finger or chances are he turns his head and bite me real quick.

@@sn9gl Generally don't recommend touching your parrot anywhere besides its head to avoid triggering a hormonal response and the sexy dance I showed in the video haha only mates touch the "sensitive spots" haha

Great video and I like these helpful little clips to explain the body language of birds! I think it is a good idea to rename the channel. "Parrots&Co." is very clean, short and easy to remember!

This was great!!! I love how you put in actual clips of the “bird language” I’m understanding my bird more. My RingNeck also does that in the morning. He bites the cage tho so he’s not a morning bird I let him calm down and then take him out 😀 but I’m confused with one thing my bird does. His eyes pin and he opens his wings and stands up taller. And his eyes change they “lower” if that makes sense like if he’s high on weed lol😭 I know that sounds funny but idk what that means. And he runs away and comes back and does the same thing. Opens his wings and stands up taller 🤔

This video is fantastic. I have seen my Quaker do some of these things, so it is nice to know what they mean. Thank you.
