My bird has abandonment anxiety...he gets plenty of attention but once i leave he screams and gets on everyone elses nerves....

You mentioned not to come strait away when your bird screams for attention. Ok, but what to do when it continues on screaming? How to make it stop screaming and learn it that screaming is not acceptable?

My parrot is 50. I was told he was abused for 20 yrs. Next owner died and now he is with me. He began well. Friendly and coming to me. Now he has stayed in attack mode. And he is a large bird. When he bites, he latches on and twists. Flipping hurts, bruises and bleeds. I am at my wits end and am lost for any solutions. I will give him another yr or so but will not have a pet that I cannot interact with. I seriously need help here.

You're doing a great job with Alphi no question. Mine accepted when he was a chick and I stopped putting it on due to lack of time for months and he forgot, so now I struggle... Start all over, I'd apply your advice

I cant get mine to play on her jungle gym or stay on her cage. Soon as i walk away she flys to shoulder. Doesnt like hands so she flys away. Gotta use a stepup stick THEN she will get on my hand. If i close the cage she FREAKS and yells and yells

My bird is pretty aggressive after 10 years and I assume he's mad at me. Not for a lack of trying, I swear. He gets about 8-10 hours of daylight, and I give him chop/greens but he will REFUSE to eat it. I'm trying to switch him to pellets but he screams and will starve himself rather than eat it. I'm likely doing something wrong, but heck, I don't know what else to do. I've been watching and reading advice for years.

I've been volunteering at a bird sanctuary, and the absolute loudest creatures in there are the little Sun Conures. They are the only ones that make me wish I'd brought earplugs, too loud for words. This is great, thanks. I'm "rescuing" a Sennie soon and found this very helpful. She's also cage-bound and likes men, so I'm facing an uphill challenge. It's so good to see that they can change their minds with enough attention and care.

Great video. We took in our older neighbor's parrot when he moved away. We had never had a parrot or any bird before. We've had plenty of cats and dogs but never a bird. Our 20-year-old Sennie is a cuddly love and is so funny. We adore her, and she is a beautiful addition to our crew. (We also went through the initial bitey period. She doesn't bite anymore.)

Thank you I have just got a 14yr old conure and to get him out of the cage he won't step up but he jumps onto my arm and rushes up to my shoulder, and I can't get him back in his cage he has been let out to fly from previous owners and they let him go back in when he is ready. I will try these tips 👍

Senegal is much much more receptive to training in comparison to Psittacula like ringneck or Alexandrine. Senegal or any other poice species is one of the easiest birds to train
