Thank you so much! I have an adult Senegal that was a rescue bird. The majority of his old life he spent in his cage because he was “too aggressive” so he never learned to fly. Once we rescued him, we realized that he was indeed kind of “aggressive” but we assume that he was probably abused in his old home. This video really helped me get him used to the idea of flying. Thank you so much!

Hi There. Just found your channel yesterday - I'd love to collaborate with you :). I have a jardines Parrot - we got him as a hand reared baby - he was adorable but once he reached puberty after 3 or 4 years he became violently and viciously aggressive - I have made a couple of shorts about him - you can see what I mean - but I'd love to train him properly and also discuss parrot stuff - thanks for your film :)

READ ALL OF THIS : Great video, thanks. Just just bought one and a half year old African Grey with its cage. They said it was so tame. Day one…. flew at me inside cage on the attack. I left it alone so it could get used to new surroundings. Morning day 2- used one click on a clicker and gave it part of a cracker. Spent nearly all day with it, using clicker. We were both VERY wary of each other. I never opened the cage door, being very wary of that beak. Wanted a very short head rub…through bars….Day three - he came over to cage for a head rub…fingers tentatively through bars again. Responded well to one click food. Afternoon day 3…I had to put new items in cage for him from pet store. I opened cage door, put my hand in and he ignored me totally. Later I opened door again and he put his head down for head rub, at back of cage on branch. I bit the bullet and put my finger on back of his head. He rubbed against it so I massaged his head with other fingers. He lifted his leg and outstretched his toes to be picked up. I backed away and closed the gate. I returned later and he did exactly the same routine. So did I, and closed the gate. I pulled a chair up next to his cage at the side facing forward with my iPad and put on parrot sounds. He came over to investigate, got bored and walked off. I changed you tube to something different for me, turned my head and his face was next to mine watching through the bars. After a few minutes he walked over to his dish picked up a peanut walked back over, turned around and carried on watching. ( won’t let him see p*rn as they remember and repeat !) I left and returned later opened cage, gave him a head rub and he put his beak and tongue over my fingers,…while I sweated. He put his foot out to be picked up and I backed off., because it may be a different story getting him down from the curtains. That will come later when we both are confident with each other. Each time I approached him I have given him a treat. I don’t use clicker now and he comes straight over. The key is to watch his reactions to everything and act accordingly. Take your time…no sudden movements. If he gets startled, ie a dog barking, back away. If he goes to bite say NO firmly then leave the room. He stops biting because he wants to seem me again. I do have loads of hanging parrot toys from pet store in cage.Boredom= aggression. Don’t give up.

I recently got a senegal and honestly I'm really unhappy.. I've had many untamed birds and managed to reduce the biting. I've even had an untame African grey that became less aggressive but this senegal. He's bit me really really badly. I'm doing all. The point training and hes doing it but then he will just randomly get puffed and angry. He's shredded my knuckle. Bit me in the same spot multiple times skin is hanging off. He does this ariel attack where he will literally fly across the room and viciously attack. But then he will also come and sit on my leg or stomach and play with his toys. He will switch to extremely aggressive aggressive. I'm tired of him. I made a huge mistake buying him.. Previous owner lied about his temperament.

Smart . Good info. It's not the screams it's the pitch. The irony is that a.......noisy parrot is, for the most part, a happy bird. The irony. God bless

Great advice, and Alfie is a cutie! I've had two conures in my life. Both were lively, smart, and fun. The first one bite me hard enough to break skin only ONCE in her 22 years. The second, a green-cheek conure, got the same healthy diet as my first conure (Harrison's pellets, fresh fruits and veg, etc.) but drew blood several times a month. Sometimes he'd fly after me and bite the back of my neck, like a tiny vampire. On the other hand, he could sit on my knee for hours while I worked on my keyboard. So safe to say we were bonded. He was adorable, but could be like Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde.

My Senegal is 30 years old. He eats everything, when we first got him and let him join us for dinner he ate lamb chops and salmon. He loves everybody but me. He attacks me, and bites me. I take him out of his cage with an 8 foot wooden dowel stick. I still love him.

Is there any kind of dog whistle or anything that birds don’t like and they’ll stop yelling because they hear it I live somewhere that my landlord has birds and they are really loud and it drives me crazy. Is there anything that they’ll stop yelling if they hear it, maybe like a dog whistle or something like that.

for me its impossible to get along with my two Rosyfaced Lovebirds, i live in Germany and here we are not allowed to Buy single Birds, AND they are not allowed to handfreed by breeders if the parents are still alive. SO i will never getting them on my hands... They eat from my fingers but when i have no food i am looking disgusting to them xD

I don't mind it being on my shoulder, but it bites when I try to take it off. =/ I think it might be a territorial thing. I don't like it at all. New bird owner. So frustrated... Problem is I've had it for 2 week, it's 6 weeks old now, and it's been on my shoulder most of that time, but has been showing the aggression the last few days :( It's still on a formula diet (learning to forage and eat seeds) so can't quite train yet with treats. Good advice thank you!

I have two parrots, a 8 month old, female African Grey Congo & a Double Yellow Head Amazon… My female joined my family 1st, she started out pretty quiet & shy & slowly but surely became obsessed with me & turned into a total stalker…If, I leave the room she whistles extremely LOUD! & or fly off her cage and go look for me upstairs. The whistling & screeching is annoying … My Double Yellow Head is a male & he is new, & he is pretty laid back…But, now I see he is getting bad influenced by my AGC😡& Im now trying to nip in the bud his weird noise he makes now when I leave the room … He makes like an owl noise & she does a lot of whistling … What has been working for me , is me putting her in her cage. And covering the front part , like a blinder … so, she can’t see if I’m there or not & I noticed that has helped or limited him & definitely stopped her as she can’t see me. Thanks for the video … I would have tried the ignoring part but I have to nip it in the bud as she is no longer alone & I don’t want her influencing the new one…
