I wear prescription glasses myself and I tested with the Disco goggles and it fits perfectly over my glasses.

No, it doesn't but you will get immersive view of your flying experience with the goggles.

I have the skycontroller black edition and I wanted to get the cockpit glasses. Are they really worth it or are they more of a gimmick?

In my experience with cockpit glasses is that it will give you a cockpit view of flying the drone. If you want to experience an FPV flying than cockpit glasses is what you want to try out.

Is it smooth. Is the picture somewhat decent? I don't really want to fork out the 300 dollars for the glasses. Also, how is the range of the skycontroller 2 compared to the black skycontroller?

It is pretty smooth on my Disco skycontroller that I can tell you. I never own any other Parrot product than the Disco so I can't speak of other Skycontroller experience.
