Awesome! Vicky & Koko LOVE your uploads ....& I do to. They are 2 adopted Congo Greys in my care since 08-'23. Both lovely characters, yet very different. Vicky is explorative and sociable, whilst Koko is hesitant and startles easily . ...Singing, vocal experiments and music connected them from the get-go.

Hi there! I'm so happy to hear that you, Vicky, Koko, and even you, all enjoy my uploads! That truly warms my heart. What a delightful pair Vicky and Koko must be! It sounds like they complement each other perfectly with their contrasting personalities: Vicky's adventurous spirit balancing Koko's cautious nature. It's fascinating to learn that singing, vocal experiments, and music became a common ground for them to connect. These shared experiences often form strong bonds between parrots and their humans. The video you mentioned, "parrot sounds for birds - African grey parrots singing," is a great choice for Vicky and Koko! I hope they enjoyed the different vocalizations and found it stimulating or even inspiring to add to their own repertoire. If you'd ever be comfortable sharing any videos of Vicky and Koko enjoying my content, I'd be absolutely thrilled to see them! Thank you so much for reaching out and for taking such wonderful care of your adopted Congo Greys.

There are two types of African Grey parrots. This is likely the smaller one, called the Timneh.

Thank you for your comment! You're absolutely right. African Grey Parrots are indeed classified into two main species: the Congo African Grey (Psittacus erithacus) and the Timneh African Grey (Psittacus timneh). The Congo African Grey is known for its larger size and vibrant red tail feathers, while the Timneh African Grey is slightly smaller and has a darker, maroon-colored tail. Both species are highly intelligent and renowned for their exceptional mimicry skills and ability to learn and comprehend human speech. It's always fascinating to appreciate the subtle differences between these two magnificent parrot species. Your observation about this parrot being the Timneh African Grey is astute, and thank you for sharing this insight with us.
