K Nash it's really simple. All you need to do is bring the water to a boil, place the veggie of your choice in the pan 40 to 60 Seconds and remove:))

Interestingly a parrot diet looks alot like an iguana diet. Except they don't eat roots or pasta. But everything else, yes. It's also fun to put together a veggie meal for a pet.

But you get as much fresh stuff as I do & 3 of my 7 birds plus the rest are med to med small & my smallest is my plum headed parakeet & I think I get as much as you! They look at me crazy when the cashier tells me i eat healthy & its actually for my birds! Lol plus at our store we get sprouts from a local health food diner place that delivers so i get 2 bags of sprouts also every other week so i don't have to sprout safe beans, lentils, & a few others! Which helps save time plus sprouting can be a lot of work & take up space so it made it easier but I'm like you & love to see fellow bird lovers give their birds lots of fresh stuff, funny video! I wonder if those people wanted to probably be in it! Lol ! :-)

Where I live whole foods & trader Joe's are next to each other. I love them & I hear ya as a full time assistant manager for my small bird store, plus before I care for the breeders & even babies as well as help hand feed babies during the day, plus I do payroll from home online so not to hard & do it with the birds plus finally making a KZbin Channelfor my birds, reptiles & crazy life@ lol. You should buy activated charcoal for your parrots because I use it for my parrot and it gets rid of toxins in their body and it helps the digestive system and it is really good for them.I think you can buy it online

My AG LOVED ginger raw. Also she loved watermelon. I wld wash the entire melon well, cut it up and give her the rind as well. It has many mineralsn vitamins too. She prefered snap peas over the snow peas.

Parrot Playhouse YES SHE WAS! Sadly she passed away in Oct of 2015. The vet n i fought to save her but sadly we couldnt. It has been almost 2urs and i still greiving over her. She became my disability companion. She went everywhere w me except dr and grocery. I am basically homebound so we were together 24/7. She kept me sane and provided me companionship as i am alone most of the time. I raisd her from 4mo old. I had pd down ppt on her before she was even an egg. As i wanted the next surviving hatchling. At that time i wasnt aware of adopting or i wld hv went that route. The breeder lived too fsr away for me to visit so i called everynight and talked to her to let her get to know me by voice to lessen her fear when i brought her home. It worked fantastic. She w as 4mo old when i made the 8hr drive to get her. I spoke to her and she wanted to come right to me and she snuggled w me and played w me the entire ride home and was never afraid. I loved her so much. Her name was Angel, and she was my angel. Oh, she was a congo grey.

Sorry, I just saw your question. Try sticking the veggies in a chopper and make then super fine. Mix in with the seed. Your little ones will have to pick through the veggies to get to the seed. You can only leave the veggies mix with seed out for 3 hrs before it goes bad. It's important to make sure she is getting plenty of food. These little ones can be tough when it comes to eating healthy! Also, try the Harrison Super Fine pellets. I sprinkle a little on the bottom of my guys and they eat it up. I also give my parakeet seed as well. Let me know how it goes!!!

It helps to remember that you may have to offer a new food item a dozen times (or more) before the bird will eat it because it is unfamiliar. It took at least that many times before my bird tried cauliflower, now he sees it in my hand and can't wait for me to give it to him.

Please make a COMPLETE bird diet. I really hope to get a bird but the diet seems very confusing in all the different videos. Do you ONLY make homemade food? What about bird seeds? Do you have to cook veggies? Is there certain foods you can and can't feed different breeds?

Wow, your birds have an amazing diet! But these organic foods must be expensive. If you could grow some yourself in a garden, you would save a lot, but you are working so hard already, so I don't know if that's a good idea. But beets and chard are really easy to grow. :)

Is this too late? It’s recommended to get organic to be safe. If using normal veg then id wash really well. Sometimes i soak them in water ot even blanch in hot water for a few seconds.

What a great video! Awesome! Keep making more. Do serve the carrots with the tops hanging raw? What kind of water to you serve your birds? Based on the groceries that you bought, how much of each do they eat each day. So for a pair of caiques, what's for breakfast? Spring mix salad with figs? Or frozen salad (peas/ corn/ broccoli?) I am told not to have bids play with food so don't leave it in the cage longer than 1 hour. When do they get the pellets? Lunch time as foraging during the day while I work? Dinner time pasta? Fruit salad? Maybe it would be helpful to show examples of a single bird's meal portion for each meal and snack in dishes. So 3 breakfast, 3 lunches, 3 dinners. Then you can suggest the foraging ratio of their intake. Do parrots eat more after a shower or before? Then the shower is a clean up. I'm looking forward to seeing my birds stained with pomegranate. But thy have to get cleaned eventually. Damp towel for surfing? With 2 birds in one cage, do you recommend 1 water bottle or 2? 2 perches allowing access to the food dish? Do you weigh your birds weekly? Thanks for your help.

Thank you Bilquis! I serve the tops chopped up to my big guys and hanging from their cage to my little guys. I will lightly blanch or serve raw depending on the meal plan is for the evening. I always like to change it up to keep them excited about their food.

I usually like to buy crystal glacier water for them. I will give them fresh veggies and fruit in the morning. My guys eat all the veggies they want and a small serving of fruit. My caiques will usually get a quarter size piece of apple and 2 blueberries. Sometimes I will give them more. I leave plenty of pellets all day in their cages and serve a hot dinner at night. Usually, give them more than they can eat. If I notice their weight is increasing after a weekly weigh in then I will cut back a bit. Just filmed a video on why it's important to weigh your parrots weekly today. Lol!
