Looks like a beautiful day to be in the mountains.

We were there in May as well. It’s a nice peaceful ride.

Thank goodness we had a jeep. The traffic backup on the loop just outside the visitors center was horrendous. Glad we were able to make that right turn and exit the park on a fun and beautiful drive to return to Bryson City.

Yes, the Cades Cove traffic can be pretty bad at times. We love Parson Branch and Rich Mountain Roads for the escape route and views.

Thank you for sharing. I found PB in the early 80's. I endure the cc traffic to get there. So glad we can enjoy this again. And the roads look much better than way back when. I no longer have 4wd, will my new Nissan truck make it or are some crossings risky in the small truck? Headed there in a few days.
@TealOxAdv2 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the delayed response, we too have driven PB several times over the years starting in the 80s. Regarding your Nissan, I believe you should be able to unless the trail,has been degraded by some of the rain they’ve had recently. It may be worth asking a ranger before starting down the road.

Sucks this is a damn one-way road. Would be an amazing entrance for us Chattanoogans.
@TealOxAdv2 ай бұрын
Yes, it would be nice to enter that way. Especially coming in halfway around the loop.

It was the Friends of the Smokies who assisted the NPS in the road clearing and improvements.

was the infestation stopped after the cleanup?
@TealOxAdv2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, no. There are measures in place to attempt to control the infestation. www.nps.gov/grsm/learn/nature/hemlock-woolly-adelgid.htm

2 weeks I am in Gatlinburg for a few days and will have some free time. Locals, where from Gatlinburg are some trails? Wanting to take some folks out in the Gladiator. Thanks for any response. Gaia is preferred if you will.

Outdoors in the Smokies is a great private off-road park nearby in Cosby (we have a couple of videos from there). The trail to Buzzards Roost and Harmen’s Den is not too far as well. Either DM us or send an email to ronusar1981@gmail.com and we can share some files for use in Gaia.

How would something like a subaru or honda crv do on this trail?
@TealOxAdv6 ай бұрын
They should be fine. It’s mostly a gravel road with one hill that gives some people a problem. It can get rutted at times, but should be manageable.
@timflaherty27316 ай бұрын
@@TealOxAdv Thanks! Really enjoy your videos.

@timflaherty2731 Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. We think you will enjoy the ride up there if you go. Make sure to check for seasonal closures before you go. The road is closed for winter.
@philchigges2955Ай бұрын
could you ride a mini bike there?
@TealOxAdvАй бұрын
These are considered a legal road and all vehicles must be licensed and registered. If the mini bike meets that criteria, I am not aware of any other restrictions.

What I don't understand is why you're not allowed to walk with a leashed dog. It's a damn ROAD.
@TealOxAdv Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure why that is other than possibly a wildlife concern.
