So refreshing to see English people who obviously have a love for Snowdonia actually attempting to pronounce Welsh words correctly. Diolch yn fawr. Great video

I enjoyed this, thanks, it brought back many memories... climbed it years ago. I can recommend the Gambit Climb too, if you've not already done it! :)

This looks amazing and what a beautiful day for a climb. But theres a youtuber called brave dave who said this should be done without ropes. What do you guys think?

Thanks Faisal, glad you liked the video. We have heard of Dave's video but not seen it ourselves. It certainly caused quite a stir in the instructing world and was fairly unanimously criticised by instructors. Obviously taking clients up a route like this and having a fun personal day out are two very different things. Assuming we are just talking about a personal adventure then it would really come down to the level of risk you are willing to accept. Honnold soloed El Cap because it was a level of risk he was willing to accept, but that does not mean that it is a safe or an advisable activity! We would suggest that for most people a rope would be advisable and allow for a safer and more enjoyable day out. There are several sections where a slip or a loose hold could end very badly. It's a great route and well worth doing 👍

@@TheClimbingNomads thanks for the reply guys, I've done quite a bit of grade 1 and 2 personal scrambling in the lakes, snowdonia and the cuillins. However I dont have any experience with rope work. I may need to go on a course, to safety net for the eventuality that I do need to use it out there.

I have been climbing and scrambling since the 1970s, I personally would not take any notice of what Brave Dave says. You only have one life safety is the most important factor.

enjoyed that guys! I climbed the CyP recently and to be honest was slightly underwhelmed but combined with Grib Coch and then the north ridge descent it's certainly a big day out in the mountains. I see you went the other way down - not tried that. Is the crack at 8:05 part of the route or did you add that in for spice? I don't recall climbing that! Great to see the Cryrn Las scramble start as I plodded up the dull path on the other side of the stream.

Thanks for the comment :) yes, the crack was an addition to spice the route up a bit! The usual line is slightly to the right, but the crack looked too tempting! The climbing seemed to be over too quickly on the CyP arete, but a fun day out with friends :) Brett and Sophie
