Thanks so much. This gave me exactly what I needed for my 2006 Town & Country. Those wiper arms have to be at the correct angles or the blades knock against each other. The video gave me a great view of the where they should be. Loved the ball peen hammer trick. Saved my new window shield and reclaim yard top of hood plastic cowl.

Update David. Nothing like what I was talking about at all. Up here in Canada we use lots of salt of the roads. Apparently the aluminum and steel (arm and shaft) combination can really create a bond over the years ... almost like a weld I was told. We used a SnapOn puller (broke the battery terminal puller) and it finally POPPED. Took WAY MORE FORCE that even the mechanic was used to. There you are David. Now to get to the actual power steering hose replacement job. Continued success.

Thanks for that added info. It just shows you the affect different climates have on vehicles. I'm so glad I work in Georgia where rust and having to use a torch is an everyday thing lol. Glad to hear you got it back off. Might be s good thing to put some anti seize on it for the next time.

Nice tutorial man, got an 06 town and country and the studs broke that hold the wiper arms on so we can't back it off the 15mm bolt any further, gonna have to get the grinder out lol

Just showing me that trick of tapping the nut to release the arm was all I was looking for ... but I'm going to stay and watch the hold video (both parts) because I need to get back down into the power steering hose in order to replace it. Nice work! Thanks again. Continued success.

Thanks for commenting on the video. I didn't have much luck as far as reliability when it came to the replacement wiper motor. Wife blew out 2 times when her wipers failed and then replacement started acting up. Wasn't chancing it the second time. Just installed a used one and had no more issues. Don't forget to subscribe

+MotorCity Mechanic David, I might not have been very clear in my initial comment to this video or you may have intended to respond to another post, but to clarify, I don't actually need to replace anything wiper motor related (today) ... I merely want to get access to the power steering pump and high pressure hose line that is in front of the passenger seat inside the motor compartment. I've never removed a wiper assembly 'cow' panel before - and yes, I have a 2005 SXT 3.8L (silver) Grand Caravan as well. This was an excellent educational instructional video on how to remove the cow for better access down behind the motor ... plus informative for if/when I need to make fixes to the wiper systems. +Jeff Chapman I fully understand Jeff. Something I try to touch base on items mentioned in the video because a lot of the times viewers read the comments and gain additional info. Removing that cowl panel will give you lots of room to gain access to the hose for sure.

On my 2014 T and C Van, all the lights on the dash lit up, and the wipers would not stop. I am not sure what is wrong, but I think there might be mildew in one of the cluster of the electronics. Have you ever had this problem, and how to fix it? Also the comp. say to replace the Cadilic Converter. I think it might be a oxigen sensor that has to be replaced.

i have '98 dodge caravan and the wiper always stays high when the engine is started. the switch has no control. Any suggestion would be much appreciated. Both relays are OK. Thanks.

I have a chrysler van and its a yr 2000, the window wipers suddenly stopped working after a crazy deep puddle from a flash flood and then the wipers were humming and i would have to push the wiper down in order for them to move. They do not operate on their own. What should i do?

Now those two items are common problems. I did alot of those repairs over the years. Recently they dont seem to come to the shop as they use to. As cars get older......they stop showing up. I am sure the independent shops do see alot of them. As mentioned.....I will keep that in mind as well as a video in the future.

As far as a video? I can actually say that I never had to do that repair on that vehicle....they held up great. Im sure over time and mileage that eventually it may be needed. I will need to keep that as a possible video idea if I come across that repair eventually. As for now.....I need to have a video with that repair needed so that I can film it. Thanks for the request

+Elsa Rosario What I would do first is sway both the wiper on/off and the wiper high/low relays with other relays in the fuse box.....they should look the same. Just remove both of these relays and then swap with any other 2 that match. You may have a stuck relay so that is what I am trying to determine first. The fuse box under the hood should be labeled with both the relays. Check it out and let me know what you find.

David, I have what appears to be possibly a threaded washer that's preventing even a washer arm puller from actually providing enough up force. have you ever run across a threaded washer?!

I have the exact same thing (washer on the stud) on my 2007 Caravan C/V. Nothing seems to work to get the arms off.

I can't get the damn wiper arms off I think they're rusted on any other tricks to get them off?

They make pullers just for this. Usually I can get away with backing the nut off a few turns until the nut is above the threads and while pulling up at an angle....tap on the shaft with a hammer enough to free it up. The nut stays on so that you don't damage the threads.
