@@davidivaskovic while now it's hard to imagine someone else playing him, initially he didn't fit at all. For one he's a full foot too tall. And many of his interactions are influenced by how physically unimposing he is. He's the walking embodiment of little man complex. So it wasn't just preference issue, it fundamentally changed the character. I think we're ready for a comic accurate Wolverine. Just a mean Sean Sherk looking sob

One of the best Fox X-Men movies IMO! James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender absolutely nailed it as younger Professor X and Magneto and their chemistry is no doubt the best part of this movie. Also I think Havok is underrated; his powers are badass.

Fun fact: when Wolverine said go f*** yourself it was completely improvised and not part of the script the other two actors were stunned and didn't know what to do so they just left the room thinking they have to do a retake

Funny you said that Frost has the same powers as the sister of Logan's girlfriend in Origins Wolverine, because they're supposed to be the exact same character, this is one of the many many many inconsistencies of this saga ^^

Another inconsistency is how Charles ended up in a wheelchair. We saw him walking during a flashback scene in X-Men 3 and again in Wolverine Origins. Then, he says he met Magneto when he was 17 but clearly, he's not 17 in this movie. Next, there's Charles's relationship with Mystique because it doesn't exist in the original trilogy. Then, there's Beast's mutation because we see how he turned into a blue monster but he was human in his cameo in X2 and then he changed back to a blue monster by X3.

It's better to think of the 'First Class' line of movies as a soft reboot. You'll see similarities to the original trilogy - even the same actors at times, but they felt no obligation to make it consistent to the older movies. Don't compare them, just enjoy the show....

You were right about your last statement, "his powers are amazing." If anything, he is overpowered because he is literally unkillable, he adapts almost instantaneously to anything that might be trying to kill him and, although I don't know for sure, I am pretty sure that eventually, his body, seeing that it will die if it allows itself to continue aging, will eventually evolve immortality, at least as far as aging to death.

Raven/Mystique and Charles Xavier being close friends since childhood was a story element introduced in First Class. In the original X1-X3 movies there wasn't any such prior relationship, which is why Mystique had no qualms about sabotaging Cerebro and possibly killing Charles in the process.

Good film...but Darwin shouldn't have died (though I did theorise that maybe he didn't), his powers were severely understated. In the comics he has evolved some extraordinary abilities and could have easily survived that encounter.

Some trivial -Mystique can heal faster then a human does, and that gives her ability to old more slow. Its unclear how how is she, but the comics says she may be more older then Logan or Professor X. Rebecca Reprised her Mystique role in this one, when Laurence made a older version to please Magneto! -The red devil look guy Azazel is the father of Kurt (nightcrawler) and Mystique is his mother. -Is often confuse that Emma Frost was Kayla Sister in The wolverine, but if the movie follows Kayla family tree... her sister is not Emma. -Havoc is Scott Summers older brother -Emma Frost is probably the second most powerful telepathic person after Charles. While Emma is Omega Level, she is still weaker then Professor who is not a Omega Level. originally Emma was going to be performed by Rosemund Pike, who did Miranda Frost in 007-Die another day. Which she was a colder and distante character. The producers wanted Pike to be Emma, which she even did a screen test and rumors says she was accepted. But the role eventually went for January Jones. Also Emma Peel made by Diana rigg was the inspiration for Emma Frost creation. Emma have two distinguished powers. One is her telepathy (is it mention that in telepathy combat, Emma is more skilled then Charles) and the shape diamond. Shape diamond while make her body immune to attacks, but it blocks her to use her telepathy. After Jean Dead (one of them) Miranda and Scott had an affair. Scott saw in Miranda the same psychic link he had with Jean, and tried to ease is pain, by having Miranda affection.

Azazel the other evil henchmen is said to be Nightcrawlers long lost father in the Marvel comics. And Zoe Kravitz plays the mutant Tempest (Angel Salvatore) in this movie who is also Catwoman in "The BATMAN" 2022 film with Robert Pattinson.

They were thinking about doing X-Men Origins: Magneto but the Wolverine one wasn't received well. It would still be cool to really get a grand origin story about him. Rose Byrne was also in Insidious. I believe the evil Hellboy is Nightcrawler's father. Zoey Kravitz from Kimi, The Batman, and Mad Max: Fury Road among other films and shows plays Angel.

I know I am late but that whole Argentinian bar scene absolutely cinema heritage. In case anyone doesn't know 'Blut und Ehre' (Blood and Honor) was the tagline of Hitlerjugand which was basically Hitler's youth corp. The guy was as Nazi as they come. Eric asks him which among 'Blood and honor' would he like to shed first to which the scumbag gave the same cop out answer every single Nazi that was put on the Nuremberg trials gave which is "We were under orders". Eric took it as blood because that answer meant that the Nazi scum had no honor to begin.

Hunting Nazi's. Consider everything that occurs until he is finished there. NOW, Consider his character from Inglorious Basterds. Specifically, while he is in a bar...with Nazi's until he's finished. Count the multilayered and reversed details. If you reach 20 of them, well-done.

It's funny/sad Darwin died first because in the comics his powers allowed him to adapt to survive literal god level attacks, even giving him the ability to teleport away if something was truly unsurvivable, but the black guy died first. Best joke i heard is he should've adapted to have deadpool's fourth wall breaking powers, realized they're gonna kill him first and just nope out of the movie.

You should see the original "Flatliners" from 1990 also with Kevin Bacon, Julia Roberts, Kiefer Sutherland, etc. They did a remake a handful of years ago, but I haven't seen it.

If you love Kevin Bacon he has been in some absolute hidden gems you most definitely need to try out FOOTLOOSE [absolute classic not to messed with} FLATLINERS {1990 the the new ruined version} HOLLOW MAN {special effects are amazing} WILD THINGS {so many twists even throughout the credits} THE AIR UP THERE STIR OF ECHOES {scared the crap out or a younger me lol} i know you love these super hero movies, i watched FREAKS {2018} during lockdown and it had me on the edge of my seat and completely mind boggled until it started showing us what was really going on behind the characters. Highly recommend it, not the usual and nothing you can expect at all. have fun on movie journeys
