I just removed my compressor yesterday (in that same way!) and I think there should be a warning when you're prying it out. That plastic oil filler tube to the left? Be safe, take it off first. You local auto parts store does not stock that and you're not driving the jeep without it. I broke mine off at the neck because the compressor rotated right into it and since it's 18 year old plastic in my '99, it was brittle with no give at all. Crack! I have one coming from eBay but for now I will have to epoxy & duct tape it until the new one arrives. Just my little PSA for the day.

Do you know how much oil does it need? I have the same jeep but I got my compressor from the junk yard

This site seems to explain it well: drivinglife.net/how-much-oil-in-ac-compressor/ Sounds like about 2oz per can of refrigerant but there are a few caveats to this. So I would definitely read the the section about halfway down the page.

did you add any oil to the compressor? I did the same job and followed your instructions but I haven't ran the compressor because I haven't added any oil to the compressor. I thought you talked about it somewhere but I can't find it now.

The auto parts store said the compressor we pre oiled.

It's not the camera it's youTube's video stabilization. Back in 2015 when this video was uploaded youTube would auto stabilize your videos. Sometimes it worked good other times it look a bit strange, like this video.

Not trying to rain on your parade here, what your doing is highly against the law to release refrigerant into the atmosphere when one removes the compressor lines. Although I am sure this video helps show how to replace, it does not disclose that it is highly unlawful to even work on an automobile's A/C system, neveralone release refrigerant into the atmosphere which calls for a very stiff fine of at least $5000.00 I believe, even if you have your what they call a ( 609 auto refrigeration certification). Which is required by the EPA before even touching an automotive A/C system unless your just adding refrigerant. I am not surprised that you did not care to mention it. Be careful posting videos like these, as it's no joke.
