I love that I have the same year bike as you now. It makes all of these videos direct tutorials for when I've got to do my own! I love how thorough you are and how you share your best practices. Thanks.

Hi there, thanks for the vid.. Being a bit of a tool geek, I went to some effort and got myself a Hozan P-221 (Japan to Aust via Nth America, :-)) on your recommendation, what a beautiful tool, thanks for the tip. Even though I will probably use this tool very rarely, I really enjoy having the RIGHT tool for the job when I go to do a job (much like my TOR ODT), and this tool is just perfect for this job, and no other.
@TokyoOffroad4 жыл бұрын
Yes, the Hozan chain tool is very nicely made. Pleased you like your's (and the ODT tool :-) )

Incredibly, my son’s KTM 85 SX engine continued to operate perfectly normal after the governor for the coolant impeller dropped three of its ball bearings down into the clutch case. I only discovered it during the last oil change when one ball bearing plopped into the oil drain pan and the other two were clinging to the magnet on the oil drain plug. The new part is $103 and is on order. I’ll do the engine’s third top end while it’s on the engine stand. Remarkable little engine.

Thank you! Your videos are always so useful. My manual says to remove the engine from the right side but clearly it's easier on the left side. So glad I have Tokyo Offroad youtube channel right next to the moto bench.

Good video. Is Tokyo off-road your company by chance? Great idea using a lathe to create common punch tools used in dirtbike maintenance l

Pleased that you enjoyed the video. Yes, Tokyo Offroad is my company. The tools I offer I designed (based on working on my own bikes) and manufacture myself.

Will you continue to own and ride this particular bike for the foreseeable future? I enjoy my 2015 and 2018 so much that I hope they last the rest of my riding years.
@TokyoOffroad4 жыл бұрын
Yes, I love riding it and have no plan to sell it. I'll be putting a 300 kit on it during this rebuild. And I have another 2017 250 EXC with low hours (40H) which I purchased used and will ride as a 250 following some mods (RK Tek head, STIC/Keihin 38 carb, VForce reeds). I wanted to have both 250 and 300 so I'm able to test and tune using both...

Thanks. I'll repair the radiator. I do have a spare, but the original one is not leaking, so I'll carefully knock it back into shape.
