Trans people should play sports in co-ed sports leagues. Let's make more of those. I don't think it's fair for trans women to play in women's sports. Biological women deserve the space to compete against one another. I think it is selfish and cruel for transwomen to compete in women's sports. Trans women- who I assume have reverence for biological women, should understand this and should accept that they should play in co-ed situations, and not in single-sexed sports.

@@walterlichtenberg9846 but on average males are stronger, faster, bigger, have more efficient metabolic conversion, etc. So, a whole class of athletes (males) has a built-in advantage over everybody else in women's sports, teams, leagues, etc. Meaning that, on average, males are going to win disproportionately and deprive woman athletes of victories that should have been theirs.

I have a feeling that a lot of the concerns about athletes is due to a lack of knowledge of what occurs with gender transition, that there is a lot of supposition guiding general opinion. Perhaps a campaign educating the public about what exactly occurs with body changes during gender transitioning would put everybody on the same page if one desired to become educated on the issue. It may answer questions and clarify misconceptions about physical capabilities having once undergone the process. We would then be better informed when making comparisons between trans and non-trans athletic performance.

MTF trans athletes may have to take hormones and lower testosterone, but as pro-trans Katie Barnes says here, males still have male pubertal advantage. Lia Thomas is not Trans. Lia Thomas is the perfect example of why Self-ID is not a good system for determining who is trans. She may identify as transgender but her experiences will always be different from that of people who were born trans. According to the most recent DSM, Lia Thomas has what's called Late-Onset Gender Dysphoria. The DSM explains how this is different from stardard Gender Dysphoria. Most of the talking points about trans people refer to people with Standard Gender Dysphoria or Early On-Set Gender Dysphoria.

@@kennyc6597 I don't play. I am not a big fan of sports. However, I firmly believe that if we are going to have sports, then we should not exclude someone simply because they are born differently. I can understand why it may be uncomfortable for people to share spaces with someone who presents very differently from them or clearly has an However, this is not an issue with Transgender people. This is an issue of people claiming to be trans when they are not. Also, Gender Affirming Care helps significantly with any physical complexities that may come up in these situations. Regardless of what the solution is however, everyone deserves to be treated equally. This includes trans people. Whether that means we have a separate trans league or if that means we look into alternate ways of dividing sports or something else, we all deserve to be considered in this solution and to be included. Because we are all important.

As for eliminating MTF trans athletes, after puberty (in high school) males have dozens of measurable and proven advantages over women. Intramurals are different, except in certain significant ways. These include female injuries resulting from contact with bigger, faster, stronger men and the psych advantage conferred by testosterone. Nobody is going to lose out on a scholarship in the intramurals, but they might get their nose or ankle broken. And for what? So some guy can experience his "authentic self"?
