I love messing around with the 60in1. The fact you put it in an arcade1up is giving me some ideas. Great video!

I have the Space Invaders machine. I'd love to add games and this 60 in 1 sounds great. Would it be possible to just add the 60 in 1, reuse as much of the parts that came with the original cabinet as possible, and add a trackball? No stereo stuff. Bare minimum to just be able to add and play the 60 in 1. If that could be done, what exactly would you need from the site you mentioned to male it happen?

No trackball for centipede or spinners for breakout? Seems that would be a necessary addition

Not for me…as i have those related games on my A1UP “Centipede” Cabinet and my A1UP “Asteroids” Cabinet.

I want to modify the control deck of my Ms Pac-Man arcade 1up, but I see the same kind of issue you have with the speaker board as with the possible control panel, because the modified control panel looks a lot wider than the stock control panel on this cabinet.

I have been really enjoying your clips, Scott, you approach it all in such a fun an open manner, its really great, and for sure inspired me to pick up a cabinet, Final Fight, and now I will look to Mod a cab, maybe Space Invaders as you have. Can you tell me how much the entire Kit cost you? Thanks again, I'll be sticking around for sure!

About the 17:43 Mark of the Video I list all of the parts I purchased and the Costs. Total project was appx $350. The Kit from DIYRetroArcade (link is in the Video Description) was $120 + $20 s/h. Misc Parts was $65 needed for an A1UP conversion. If you want a new Control Panel (which I recommend, then add another $60).

@@scottfarrar3441 So I tried this but used a power strip for the PS instead of EMI filter. Got everything hooked up correctly but have NO VIDEO SIGNAL on my monitor. Not sure if the PCB is bad, if this is a power issue or if I missed something.
@scottfarrar34413 жыл бұрын
@@MasterZhao - try running the VGA output from the 60-in-1 Card to a Monitor to see if you get video...if YES then it something to do with the Converter Card / Monitor...if NO then you know its the 60-in-1 game card.

Hello, does jamma 60 in 1 support track ball and which wire does it use on the harness? thanks
@scottfarrar34412 жыл бұрын
Yes - it supports Trackball. I don’t remember the pin outs for the Trackball - try a Google search to find that answer.

What is the advantage of going with JAMMA board vs Raspberry PI?
@scottfarrar34413 жыл бұрын
Good Question. 2 major reasons - Cabling and Ease-of-Use. CABLING - once you rig your cabinet with a JAMMA Harness then you can easily swap out PCBs, such as Original Game Cabinet PCBs (for example if you don't have a Simpsons Cab but you have the Simpsons Game Boards...you could install them in the Cabinet), 19-in-1 Board, 60-in-1 Board and even a Pandora Box (as they come with either an IDE connector or a JAMMA Connector). EASE-OF-USE - you literally just plug and play - no finding & downloading an image from the Internet...and populating an SD Card, configuring Joysticks & Buttons, messing with Bezels, changing Game Configs in the different Emulators...plus there is no "corrupting an SD Card" if the system is not properly shut down...it's simply turn the switch ON or OFF (like in the original A1UP Cabinets).

@@scottfarrar3441 Thanks. I am considering the options. I have an extra A1UP cab and want to convert it to something else. Probably focus on a sub-set of games that use similar controls, such as Joystick games, trackball games, spinner games, etc. I quickly become frustrated attempting to play games missing the controls that were intended to be used by the original game, such as playing Tempest without a spinner, or Missile Command without a trackball. Might as well attempt to play these games using just one hand, at least that is what it feels like after having played the original arcades games using the original controls.
@scottfarrar34413 жыл бұрын
@@nrnoble - YEP! That's why I converted 1 Cab to play HORIZONTAL Games and one Cab to play VERTICAL Games. Adding the 4-way/8-way Switchable Joystick to my 60-in-1 cab made a BIG difference as now the 4-way games (Pac-Man, Frogger, etc) play so much better then they did with an 8-way joystick. Also, I have another A1UP Cab (Rampage) that I will be converting this Fall/Winter to play HORIZONTAL games from a Pandora Box (JAMMA Connector)...this includes Fighting Games and more...PLUS...the ability to add games (that might not be part of the 2000 games). I'll create and release a video on that project ;-)

Do high scores get saved permanently on these 60 in 1 boards ?
@scottfarrar34413 жыл бұрын
No! Once you turn off the Power to the PCB then the High Scores are reset when you re-apply power to the PCB.

Just install a super console x and get 30,000 games. Cost about $150 for everything you need. The console, buttons and joysticks with USB encoders, and a lcd HDMI board.
