Vancouver prospect Elias Pettersson is preparing for his first season in North America.
His four year older brother, Nashville prospects Emil Pettersson, played his first season in AHL last year.
We met the brothers back home at their rink in Ange, Sweden.

Outside the rink they talk about how they always go down for some skating at the rink everytime they come back to visit their hometown Ånge. They say they have never played any serious hockey at the rink but that they play the Chistmasgame at noon on the 25 of december every year. In the gym they talk about that in their young years they were playing fotboll (soocer) and that Pety was a goalkeeper for most of his ”soocer career” but that he also played as a midfielder at the end of it (played intill he was about 14 years old). His brother stopped playing fotboll at 16 when he starten playing hockey more seriously with Timrå. Pety also says that he thinks that he has never ever worked out at that gym. In the corridor on the way to the rink they say that there has been renovationwork done and that the young guys should be glad that its nicer now than it was when they grow up.. At the rink they say that it has always been good hard solid ice there becauce of the cold. Pety says its perfekt condisions for fast skating and that it really ”bangs” there. Petys brother says that his idols growing were Peter Forsberg, Samuel Pålsson and Fredrik Lindberg - who was a guy playing at the A-team at Ånge hockey club. Petys brother was nagging so much at his parentes to name Pety after Fredrik so they gave Elias the name Fredrik as his middlename. Pety says that Peter Forsberg was his idol growing up and that is kind of fun that its now himself people comes up to and says that look up to him as a hockeyplayer, askes for autografs, pictures, and ask for advise on how to get better stickhandlingteknik and soforce... Pety says it feel good and he hopes to be a good rolemodel. Outside of the rink Petys talking about what a good feeling it is to have the backning of the swedish people and the pride and gratitude he felt/feels after winning the world championship and the domestic hockeyleage at such a young age. He says it was a very emotional moment when the goldmedal was hung around his neck (think he means the WC gold). The intervievguy finally askes them when they will bring back the Stanleycup trofé to Ånge - and them bott laughs and say that they may have to steal it in order to be able to bring it there...
