Stagecoaches are used as public transportation and for gold shipments. So after traveling for awhile, we were surprised to be raided by a bandit!!! It was fun to witness how the kids react to it. Crislin looked like she was about to cry 🥺 in the beginning.😅 Samuel knew it was just an act, so he rolled with it. And he actually made Crislin laugh in the end. 🤣
After touring the moaning caverns in Angels Camp, we head to Columbia State Historic Park. We rode a stage coach, which is basically a public transportation horse drawn carriage.
We’re riding Quartz Mountain Stage line in Columbia. It’s like going back in time to experience what it was like back in the 1850s. The ticketing office looks a like a mini museum. They had posters and pictures of different wagons and coaches. They had trunks laid out, and it had samples of what people would normally pack in their trunks depending on their occupation. The miners obviously have pick ax, shovel, pail, etc. There was a theatre girl’s trunk that had costumes. And a gold rush merchant's trunk had gloves, scale, coat and tie, etc.
